Not what I thought it would be. I was hoping for pictures to help me identify the different types of lace in my collection. Instead it is literally a dictionary of words associated with the production, styles, and use of lace. It certainly has value and worth and a place in my reference library, just wasn't what I had hoped for.

Pat Earnshaw is a true scholar in the realm of lacemaking. If you want to know about many forms of lace, or the proper terms for the ones you make, this is a worthy reference to keep on the shelf.

Perhaps I did not receive a complete book but the fabulous illustrations are not identified as to what type of lace it is.
Not helpful in sorting out visually what type of lace I have in my collection.
