Book arrived in excellent condition. I use this book with other terrorism books in my class. This book does an excellent job of covering the broad topic of terrorism. I do wish some of the incidents described in this book had a little more in depth look at the events, but this book is interesting, well written, and my students actually read it.

I got this book for school and the teacher who read the book said it is the most informational book, like a dictionary, great reference in regards to terrorist organizations. It's a little pricy everywhere you buy it but I got lucky, bought it here for about $65 (new) and I plan to keep it.
I started reading it myself and already learned few new words and concepts.

I liked this book for the fact that it gave historical background to the history of terrorism and the reasons people were deemed terrorists. I gave it 4 and not 5 stars because the index in the back didn't help me very much when I tried to look up specific terms that I needed to know. Also the definitions of terms that are given in the sidebar don't match up with the terms usage in the text, so that was hard to follow. Homeland Security wasn't discussed enough for my liking; rather Departments were defined in the last few chapters. I got this book at a good price and it helped me greatly in Grad school.

An okay textbook. There is a lot of slant, but it goes well with several other books if you have an option. It is definitely worth looking at if you are in criminal justice.

A very comprehensive review of the history of terrorism. Excellent reference book. It doesn't do alot of analysis but I wouldn't expect a reference book to do that.

After reading through the first 6 chapters, I have found the book to be well written and informative. Extremely comprehensive and interesting, Terrorism & Homeland Security is a must read for anyone entering DHS, FBI, or other federal and domestic agencies. Be warned, this is not an easy read. The font is small and it will take a good amount of time to get through but I believe you will come out the other end more informed and knowledgable.
