I'm giving this book a five-star rating for re-readability. The first time I read this was when I was 12-years-old, and I'm now in my twenties. I lost my original copy because I wanted all my friend to read it too, and somehow it never got back to me.

For feel-goodness, this is perfect. Allie is adorable in her naivety, but she's not so obtuse unlike other paperback heroines. Ben is every girl's dream guy, but humanized so he's really relatable. Even the peripheral characters like Mike and Tim are great. Tim is the first kid character who I've actually enjoyed in a romance, and Mike for me becomes more sympathetic every time I reread the story.

I love how Elizabeth Chandler writes but I didn't love this the way I loved her other books. I loved so many things about this except for Ben. He's the love interest but there wasn't much going on when he was in the picture. I was more interested in the other guys. But all in all, a good read.

If you're ever going to read just ONE teen romance in your lifetime, read this book! I've read this book over and over and over for about 10 years now and it doesn't matter whether you're a teenager or a teen at heart, you're going to fall in love with the characters in this story! I love Allie, Timmy and Ben! For a short book, I felt like the characters were fully fleshed out. There are no throwaway chapters, every single one counts in building the characters, conflicts and plot so you can get fully immersed. It's a quick read and you will feel giddy at the end of it. This blows Bella and Edward out of the water.

P.S. After reading this, you'll want more of Elizabeth Chandler, I suggest the story "I Do."

There are probably about a bazillion "Love Stories" books out there, but this one is my favorite. It centers around an insecure girl, Ali, with two gorgeous "all that and a bag of potato chips" sisters. Ali is on her way home from an all girls boarding school when in a desperate dash for a road side rest bathroom, she runs smack into a little boy named tim and his gorgeous brother Ben. After a small bit of flirting they get back to the turnpike and seemingly away from each other. That is untill Ali finds out that Ben and Tim are her new neighbors! Ali keeps second guessing herself when she's around ben, trying to superimpose reasons he'd want to mess with her emotionally onto him. The two keep getting pushed together into romantic situations (mainly by ben's little brother), but becuse of Ali's insecurity they both become very confused with each other.Eventually Ali get's herself into quite a pickle involving some horny drunk teenage boys and Ben has to sweep in to save the day. It's very romantic.
This book contains some of the most genuine feelings and doubts any young couple first encounter. It will tug on your heart strings. Honestly, it's the only Love stories book that I still read on the verge of my 20th birthday (especially the sleigh riding bit), and I've had the book since I was about 13. It's honest and romantic, and completly emotionally realistic. You'll love it!

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas and Allie Parker is heading home from her sucluded all-girls boarding school to spend the vacation with her parents and her two beautiful sisters. Allie has never delt with boys except as friends and so on the drive home on the New Jersey turnpike she runs into Ben and his little brother Tim at a rest stop. Ben is drop-dead gorgeous and is definately experienced in the flirting area as he offers to have pizza with her. She excepts - Hey, she's never gonna see this guy again right? Why not take a fling. She leaves thinking that, but later finds out that Ben and Tim are headed to Thornhill - the exact place Allie is headed!! It turns out that Ben is in the "in" crowed with her sisters group and is definately wanted when it comes to dating. Now she knows she's made a fool of herself the second she stepped off the grounds of her school. She decides to avoid him, but keeps running into him and his friends. She also can't resist his little brother Timmy who desperately needs to know he's loved and has friends. In helping Timmy out she gets to know Ben better and starts to wonder if he really is just a shallow flirt like lot's of the people in her sister's crowed. This book will make you laugh, wish, hurt, smile, and maybe even cry. If you read this book you'll fall right in love with Ben Harrington and I bet you'll wish you're name was Allie Parker and was friends with a little boy named Timmy.
