Capitol Hill's Criminal Underground: The Most Thorough Exploration of Government Corruption Ever Put in Writing Paperback – February 22, 2019
Purchase options and add-ons
Richard Lawless's Capitol Hill's Criminal Underground: The Most Thorough Exploration of Government Corruption Ever Put in Writing is a no-holds-barred tell-all about the bad guys of Capital Hill and Wall Street, including the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
After Lawless became a victim of these crimes, he used his decades as a senior and executive banker, backed by an MBA with a focus on finance and law, to break down the evidence in Capitol Hill's Criminal Underground. No names have been changed to protect the innocent because there are no innocent--except for the tens of millions of Americans who, like Lawless, had massive amounts of money stolen from them.
Capitol Hill's Criminal Underground is a story about one of the longest-running government-protected criminal enterprises in the history of the United States country. This is Lawless's attempt find justice for what happened to him--and to many readers as well.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2022I bought this book to gain more insight into the greed and corruption of some of the politicians who tax us and make laws that control us. I have learned that greed at the top knows no bounds. It troubles me to know that almost every BUREAU in the U.S. Government has been politicized. It troubles me further to know the current President of the USA and his Son were selling Quid Pro Quo to America's enemies and the Son is still operating for a handsome fee the Fund he set up with the Bank of China. Please --on U-Tube read" Riding the Dragon". A real eye opener
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2019Richard Lawless has exposed specific political corruption in Puerto Rico and high level politicians in the US. He clearly explains how the financial connection between Wall Street and Washington DC functions at the expense of Americans and Puerto Ricans. It's not about REPUBLICANS or DEMOCRATS-IT'S ABOUT WHAT OUR POLITICIANS ARE REALLY DOING ! I finally have a better understanding of how big business works with Wall Street and crooked politicians.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2020Considering the subtitle of this book (The most thorough exploration of government corruption ever put in writing) I was a little disappointed. The book is primarily about one case -- the author's fight to recoup his losses against the massive corruption in Puerto Rico. The author did go into a fair amount of detail regarding the corruption of Paul Ryan, Chuck Schumer, and Elizabeth Warren -- weasels all -- but pretty much glossed over the other characters. I was hoping for more in-depth revelations about Comey, Mueller, Rosenstein, and a bunch of senators and congressmen on both sides of the aisle.
And I know this will sound like nit-picking but there was never a Shawn Hannity at Fox News nor was there a Harry Reed that ran the U.S. Senate.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2020I’m baffled as to how this isn’t all over the news. I did research as I read and everything appears to check out. This is crazy. It’s time to make a change. I support the authors cause 150%
- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2021This really is a must-read book for every citizen of this country -- and it would be wonderful if people in other countries really knew what the big banks all over the world are doing.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2019an en lighting about the criminals working in government and all of those that just look the other way and never get involved in correcting the corruption in government,
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2019This was the story of a massive cover up regarding an energy project in Puerto Rico. A number of people, including the author, and many senior citizens lost funds due to fraud. The author went above and beyond, notifying all the branches of government, investigative agencies and the media, most of which chose to do nothing to keep the gravy train running. Anyone who has ever taken the time to complain about an issue and is ignored can relate. It's not what you know, but who you know and the almighty dollar rules. It's sad to say I didn't find this shocking at all, just business as usual. Hopefully it will open more eyes. I would like to note that I empathize with the author when he noted his fears about his losses and the future, an equally large number of people never got that far, weren't fortunate enough to have ever owned a house or had a comfortable life. There is a great deal of information presented in the book, some editorial errors had the same content showing in different chapters, which was a bit confusing. Otherwise this is a meticulously researched subject with overwhelming evidence. Anyone interested in political topics should read how the real world works. Can be shocking for the unwary.
