I first read this book when it came out in the mid 1970s as I was the U.S. Marketing Director for the British publisher, Longman. In re-reading it again just a few years ago, I was struck by how the events and personalities it described sound as current as what is happening today. In fact, I think it is safe to say that there is more of an internationally sanctioned cover-up going on now than there was 60 years ago. As journalism, this is fascinating. As literature, it is an excellent read.

Well-written critique by 2 insiders of UK and Mideast developments. Over optimistic at time of publishing (1970's).

The media tends to distort the information. Many people cannot tell what is true and what is not. Many Arabs and Jews ask questions about how the state of Israel was created. They ask questions about who supported its creation, the role of the US, UK, and what the Arabs did to resist. They also ask about what happened in Palestine before and after 1948.
This book was written by two British men back in 1975, a journalist and a British MP, describe what happened behind closed doors before and after 1948 in the British Labour Party and parliment, role of the media, the US, and the Arab involvement. They expose hidden pacts, secrets, media bias, and much more.
This book is an excellent history book. If you have a strong desire to learn the history of the Israeli-Arab conflict, then read this book. Hard to find, therefore, you have to buy it used. But it is worth buying it in any condition you find it in.

New edition of this brave, detailed and relentless exposure by two insiders of how the Palestinian case has been distorted or covered up by post-war governments and media. The domination of the Parliamentary Labour Party by the Israel lobby is telling. This book should be widely read.

Great Read. Everybody should make themselves aware of the true Mideast disaster; not as described by the US/British governments or the Main Stream Media.

Fascinating exposure of pro-Zionism skullduggery in the 40s to 70s. To some extent ancient history because of recent happenings in the Middle East but the pro-Zionism press is stronger than ever and this book tells of the methods that are in use.
