The kindle version is missing sections of the book. As I was reading there were references to Appendix A for example, and the kindle version has no appendix a. There are also sections that suggested looking at particular pages to look back on, and when I do, the page is not what was indicated it would be. My rating is based in what I paid for but did not receive. I can't use th book to the fullest potential and I don't want to purchase the hardcopy and pay again. It is disappointing that th description doesn't include a arming that parts of th book are not included in the kindle version!!

I read this book as an individual who has a bit of free time to invest in myself; I currently do not have any time constraints, etc.

With that said, this book helped me better understand how to efficiently and effectively manage my time if I were to ever find myself in a position where I would be extremely business and suspect to the pressures of meeting deadlines.

With that said, I highly recommend this book to anyone who is yearning for a better way to manage their time and find peace of mind in a practical approach.

A very realistic and objective approach on how to solve the dilemma of many of us, how to focus on what is really important. Approaching the important, long lasting, and satisfying things with a principle based and integrity driven desire will allow us to live a successful and fruitful life. 'First Things First' is not only a great reading material, but a challenging and practical guide for those of us that want real change and have a desire to live a life of impact and purpose.

The concept of understanding the 4 quadrants to better prioritize your time and efforts is a solid method of organizing. However, the book itself is a bit of a slog to read - and reads like it was written by committee - which it was. There is no consistent voice or common tenor to the writing. The material itself, while useful, is surrounded by fluffy stories and excess verbiage. The book would probably be just as effective - or more so - in about half the pages.

Not that this is a bad book, or that it isn't useful. It just isn't groundbreaking or particularly enjoyable to read. If you're a Covey fan, the book will chin the bar. If not, you will probably find other books that are more up your alley.

I cannot write enough about the personal benefit this book will bring if you implement them in your life. However, I must warn you of one flaw in the book...

The book drones on and on. It has great ideas, but towards the end of the book, the ideas were thoroughly used up, yet the authors kept vomiting them back at me.

Great Book in print but kindle version omits much. I re-read this book each year and it is one of the few I frequently recommend to others. Even bought a few for staff and co-workers in the past. A great book on self-examination and asking yourself what is really important.

A friend and community leader recommended this to me, and as a person who appreciates the work of Covey, I decided to pick up a pre-owned copy. In the end, it was a nice little refresher and brought to mind some tips I'd let fall by the wayside over time. I ended up sharing a few excerpts with students and I think we had some solid discussions about it. If it has been a while since you read Covey, it is a nice revisit.

The author's of this book had a buyer when I heard it was co-authored with Mr. Covey (whom I greatly admire) and I found out that Mrs. Merrill had her family's menus planned months in advance.

Also, I love the Covey/Merrill families (all that I have read about them), their faith and successful children, and family lives. And I am not a naturally organized person (I have severe ADD) and every tool I can have in my arsenal helps.

But this book, like The 7 Habits, transcends just mere organization and really helps you focus on WHAT REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE and GETTING IT DONE.

Thanks in part to it and the 7 Habits books, I now have a VERY organized household, a much happier husband, more time to spend with family, better work habits, and am well on my way to having 3 books published!

If you have any organizational or time management issues, or are simply just pursuing being the best person you can be, PLEASE GET THIS BOOK.

If I could give it to everyone ON EARTH I would.

Thanks authors!
