- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2020I read the entire book after purchase. I was just starting perimenopause and wanted to get an idea of what to expect. It was informative and easy to read. But as I began to experience symptoms, I began looking back to certain sections for information and guidance. It was my bible! And very helpful
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2017A must read to fill many gaps doctors don't have the time to explain. It's an excellent book. It's extremely useful, detailed and easy to read.
The information is very well organized and it's full of practical advise from the simplest to the most complex. It goes very deep into technicalities although they are marked to skip them in case you are not interested in so much info. And I like the touches of humor spread all around the book that make a not-so-much-fun theme and enjoyable learning.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2013As I realized perimenopause was upon me I knew I needed a basic guide. This gives the facts and helped me start the process of making decisions about my health. It is straight forward, no frills. They lay out is easy to read. I am digging deeper with other sources but this gave me a jump start. Using now as a reference guide as things come up and I have basic questions.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2023I went to sleep a 17 year old girl and woke up I. This middle aged body. I am not pleased at this whole again thing, but at least I have this book to help me navigate through the bumpy parts. Easy to read, as I have the concentration span of a bug. I can pick it up and read from anywhere. I don't think this is the most current edition, but some things stay the same. I'm satisfied with this purchase.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2010My sister told me about this book before she died .....she said it was the greatest book she ever bought and that I should get it to better prepare myself for what lie ahead. As alot of women know, menopause is not always a fun time for some women ....I happen to be one of those women that menopause is hitting hard and I can't say that I like it at all.......but this book puts everything in perspective and gives you more info than any doctor.... I love this book...if you know someone about to hit menopause this is the book to give them...they will love it...and they will be better informed as to what to expect through out the stages of menopause...this is the best book I ever bought!!!!!!!!! Thank you amazon.com !!!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2024I received it, it was not in good condition
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2009In this case, NO! It wasn't a MAN thing-It was a WOmen thing. My friend's wife of 18 years left him, blaming it on menopause. He wanted to be sympathetic, understanding, and of course, KNOWLEDGEABLE about his wife's condition. Although it didn't save their marriage (because she really wanted to travel around Europe and use the poor man for his money,) it DID increase his knowledge. He gave her the book to increase HER understanding about the way she felt, and how to counteract it; BUT she read the book on the airplane enroute BACK to the U.K. All in all, the book did its job; it was clear, concise, and easy to follow. However, there should be a disclaimer on it saying: "It can't save your marriage." Buy the book and see for yourself what a good "guide" it was. I recommend buying it from Amazon! PS Can anyone recommend a good divorce lawyer in the Pocono, PA area? He DESERVES to get MORE THAN HALF!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2012This book was really helpful. I needed something to bring a touch of humor to this serious, frightening subject. I read and read then saw my doctor and all the details in the book were the same as I got from my doctor. The book gave me great information to discuss with the doctor -- recommendations for age appropriate tests, etc. I felt much more in control of myself armed with this understanding of what was happening. I have already recommended this to friends.
