Ran across this book in the library while conducting genealogy research. I am relatively knew to genealogy and I was impressed with the leads it provided to obtain information from each state, including various counties and cities. I knew immediately that this is a must have! I was disappointed that it is not available for Kindle at the time. Hope Amazon corrects that soon!

Excellent resource for researching African-American family history
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 26, 2014Verified Purchase
First published in the 1970's, "Black Genesis" (in its second edition) is still an excellent resource for genealogy research. Despite being very focused on African-American genealogy in the US states, there are sections covering Canada and the Caribbean. Having started investigating my family history, I have been looking for tools and guidance to help me and this book is very applicable to the work I am doing on my African-Caribbean ancestry.
Definitely recommended for African-Americans researching their family history.
