Calificado en Estados Unidos el 7 de abril de 2011This book came to me in perfect condition and ready for me to read. The content of the book is not only interesting but an easy read. I really felt like the author was talking to me and trying to make me understand the concepts of building an underground house, which I really liked since it feels personable. Even if you don't want to read it cover to cover, it is quite a good reference book to go to when getting more serious about your building plans. This book not only provides informative insight but also gives pictures and models of the plans the author writes about. All in all, I am excited to have this book in my mini library to simply take off the shelf to study on my leisure. Two thumbs up!

Calificado en Estados Unidos el 16 de enero de 2013This book is an old technology book . I was very disappointed to find that all the technology in it is from the 70's and 80's. They are talking about using cedar blocks and such for foundations. Does not talk anything about the the newer insulated poured concretes or anything that what useful to me.

Calificado en Estados Unidos el 19 de febrero de 2010the book had some good points. I was very dissapointed though. in the description, it describes the two differnt types of underground houses, an earth sheltered house and one that is truly underground. I purchased for the info on truly underground homes, however there wasnt an example of any one building one or how to do so, just the earth sheltered house the author built. If your looking for completly underground, this isnt the book for you. For example the earth sheltered house the author describes in detail wouldnt have the same isues with ventilation that truly underground would have. The summary was misleading and for the price I wouldnt have bought it.

katrena duffinCalificado en Reino Unido el 16 de enero de 20143.0 de 5 estrellas The Compleate Book Of Underground Houses: How To Build a Low Cost Home
I found this subject delightful and full of first hand knowledge on the subject, however I found the pages a little outdated for the subject that appears to be a fairly new age development in terms of the content,
I would like to see this book adapted with full upto date explanations, pictures in full colour, of the productive, prospective examples of a good postion to undergo and maintain this form of living and what can or cannot be acheived from this kind of accomadation.
All in all I feel pround to own a copy of this rare book.

William D. NobleCalificado en Reino Unido el 4 de febrero de 20001.0 de 5 estrellas A rather badly written and badly presented book
Sadly this book is badly written and poorly presented. The terminology used is clearly aimed at someone who already knows a great deal about earth sheltered housing so for someone interested in an introduction to the subject it is not suitable. Neither is it very inspiring with poorly taken black and white photos and scrappy illustrations. There are better books out there.
