While this book was informative and well-researched it was lacking in detail involving the migration and settlement of Norwegian immigrants to Minnesota. More in-depth discussion and stories of the rural expansion was expected. A good overview, but short on content.

This is a good starter book for any one interested in this topic. However, I found myself wanting more in depth information. This book is about a rather obscure subject in the first place so I'm glad that someone took the time to write about it. People who are of Minnesota / Norwegian decent (such as myself) will definately enjoy it.

Not quite as interesting as the Swedes in Minnesota but I guess it's all relative.

Fantastic!!!!!!! I read it the first two days I had it and have passed it on. I am always striding to gain more knowledge about my roots and this is especially good for Red River Valley Homesteaders and their desendents.
