This is a book that aptly describes what I think are all the cemeteries in Massachusets, town by town. They are listed in alphabetical order with the address of the cemetery. If there are any books on the gravestone transcriptions of that particular cemetery, the author and title of the book is listed. The author has also listed the date the graveyard was consecrated, or the earliest burial or tombstone. This is one very well researched book which takes lots of time and energy. Growing up near the border of Massachusetts, I have been to some of the graveyards mentioned in the book. Having information such as this when I was traipsing through an old graveyard would have made it a lot easier for me. When I bought the book, though, I didn't realize it would include all the cemeteries of the state. A very well done guide with an abundance of information.

Many times I use this book when I am on the hunt to local cemeteries. It is an excellent reference book for one who photographs or researches Massachusetts cemeteries. The information garnered about each cemetery is taken from each town's vital record books and other sources. It would be wonderful if the author writes more books like this about other New England cemeteries!

Not nearly as interesting as I expected and with little additional information. A waste of money for anyone serious about studying cemeteries in MA.
