About the Author

Dr. Carl Tracie was educated at the University of Alberta and the University of California, Los Angeles. His long interest in ethnic-religious agricultural settlement began early in his appointment in 1970 as Assistant Professor of Geography at the University of Saskatchewan, where he stayed until 1979. Excluding brief forays into publishing in California, he has been Associate Professor of Geography at Trinity Western University, Langley, British Columbia, from that time to the present. Dr. Tracie has travelled widely and frequently through the original Doukhobor settlements in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
