I found my first copy back in 1972, I have read this book through several times. I'm a Christian and I don't believe in evolution, at least not the way it's taught in schools, for example they say all dogs can be traced back to the African Wild Dog. Well if you bread a African Wild Dog with another African Wild Dog Your going to get African Wild Dog puppys, that's true if you do it once or if you do it for 10,000 years. In order to get a Poodle you have to introduce some new blood from somewhere. It's just common sense! I get into discussion with hard fast evolutionists, after reading this most Change their view on evolution.

THE FIRST EDITION OF GISH'S FIRST (AND MOST FAMOUS) BOOK

Duane Tolbert Gish (born 1921) is an American biochemist and a prominent member of the "young earth" creationist movement (as well as a former vice-president of the Institute for Creation Research/ICR, with whom he has long been associated). He was probably the most well-known creationist debater, as well as the author of key creationist books such as Creation Scientists Answer Their Critics, etc. He updated this 1972 book in 1985 as Evolution: The Challenge of the Fossil Record, then again in 1995 as Evolution: The Fossils Still Say No!.

He notes, "...no significant evolutionary change has occurred in these moths. These moths today not only are still moths, they are still peppered moths, Bitson belularia. This evidence, therefore, is irrelevant to the questions we seek to answer." (Pg. 22)

He argues, "Even more devastating evidence against the assumption of a hominid status for Ramapithecus has been recent revelations concerning a living high-altitude baboon found in Ethiopia... (which) has many of the facial, dental, and mandibular characteristics used to classify Ramapithecus as a hominid!" (Pg. 77-78) He adds later, "These results certainly support the contention... that Australopithecus, while possessing canines and incisors more similar to man than to those of extant apes, was nonetheless nothing but an ape. After all, teeth alone don't make the man!" (Pg. 107)

He suggests, "Evolutionists cite the fact that many different kinds of animals have structures, organs, and metabolism that are similar... Is it surprising that the biochemistry... of the human is very similar to that of a rat? After all, don't we eat the same kind of food, drink the same water, and breathe the same air?" (Pg. 121)

While one should read the more modern revisions, this early book is still pungent in its attack, and makes its point in a much briefer space.

This book contains most of the arguments which Duane Gish used in his debates for the next 20 years. As early as 1973, he started his notorious quote-mining operation, his ad hominem attacks on the Piltdown Man and the Nebraska Man, his exposure of the Haeckel drawings, his misrepresention of the Cambrian explosion, and his confusion between evolution and abiogenesis.

Sure enough, these arguments are important. This encompasses many of the favorite Creationist arguments.

It seems, however, that he contains all of this information in his later books, but with a few details and a few updates added. In other words, he pretended to publish several books while really publishing several editions of the same book.

If you want it all in the same place, you might prefer a more recent book by Duane Gish.

Evolution the fossils say no is right on!

There is so much hype around today concerning the theory of Evolution advocating it's acceptance as fact when the truth is; it is nothing more than an outdated theory and platform for atheistic teaching.
This book was at the forefront of creation's defense not as some conjured up scheme to misdirect sincere inquirers, as evolution has proved itself to be, but rather a truthful presentation of the facts as they are.
This truth is substantiated by the fact that the fossils do not lie. There is no fossil evidence for the progression of humanoid life forms evolving from one stage to the other over millions of years.
It is nothing more than a ruse by atheistic predilection that despises the God of creation and seeks an alternative to what is clearly evident by common sense.
This book shows how these purported human fossils were nothing more than a farce fabricated upon the unsuspecting public for deceptive propaganda by fanatical evolutionist who want evolution to be true, so badly, that they are willing to fabricate the necessary proof to make it so.
Thankfully there are honest men like Mr. Gish who will not let such evil be perpetrated upon us and are willing to take a stand for the factual truth.
Evolution is dead and as a matter of fact was never really alive except in the imagination of unscrupulous men.

This book is baloney.

I saw this book at a family member's house and I decided I would give it a read. I found the lack of knowledge that the author displayed to be quite humorous. All the evidence the author and other creationists put up for creationism or against evolution has been completely dismantled by legitimate biologists. I recommend any book by Jerry Coyne, Richard Dawkins, or just about any other high profile evolutionary biologist. You will come out of their books laughing at yourself for actually having once taken creationism seriously.
