I have purchased several books hoping for the information in this book and was disappointed. This book teaches you about lace, how it is made, what the different structures are from the background fabric to the connecting stitches and everything in between. It has multiple photos for each type of lace discussed with a history of that type of lace and information about dating it when possible. While general comments are made about value, there are no specific suggestions of dollar value. Since values change as different trends prevail I will not miss it. The information in this book will never become outdated. I could not be more pleased.
