It was mind-blowing to discover in my family tree that "way back" a "mountain man" ancestor from Germany, by the name of Pressler (Presley), had married a Cherokee woman "Mourning Flowers", and after her death, her sister "Mourning Dove". I had seen "Unto These Hills" many decades ago, and now it means a lot more to me.

This book should be included on the shelf of anyone trying to establish their Cherokee ancestry. It contains a wealth of information listing book titles, documents, and other sources that one can use to follow to establish ancestral claims. It also contains a list of mirofilm available from the National Archives by film number.
I don't know the field of Dr Mc Clure's PhD; however he has put that level of research and annotation into this volume. I found it most useful.
