- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2023This is the first book review I’ve ever written. I had hardly begun to read this book when I had the first feeling of EUREKA! and just had to tell people. Dr Hein tells us of various phenomena that many of us probably never knew existed, and he describes it in ways that make us understand that it actually exists and is accessible. I believe each person will take away something different from this book based on their own experiences. As Dr Hein discusses a phenomenon, it is easy for the reader to connect and become immersed in the memory of any similar events he has had, and when this happens, it is truly exciting! He puts us at ease so we can focus on the wonders that are out there waiting to be discovered; thus, the title Opening Minds. His drawings help us understand how these things happen, and his reference to technical (and other) “clutter” that we live in and how it affects us really struck a chord with me. In this book he offers answers where there have been none and brings simplicity and credence to events that would otherwise be confusing and unbelievable. As this happens, we open our minds and become receptive, enabling such phenomena to present themselves to us. It’s like a friend pointing out a plant or insect you’ve never noticed before…suddenly you see it everywhere. It was always there but you just hadn’t been attuned to it! Opening Minds is one of Dr Hein’s earlier books and I’m so glad I bought it! I highly recommend it to anyone with a curious mind!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2019Dr. Simeon Hein captures it all in one book! Amazing! I enjoyed the scientific foundation upon which he builds his case for the extraordinary paranormal phenomena we either have or will soon encounter. Excellent book and highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2014Where to begin? The initial chapters are nothing more than old information snatched from other sources.
Then the author stumbles through a few remote viewing sessions. What readers need to know is that they don't have to fork over obscene fees to self-styled "experts" to learn remote viewing. Get the book by Stephan A. Schwartz Opening to the Infinite-- it teaches you everything needed to learn remote viewing on your own or with a few chums. There are many web sites that provide viewing targets for practice. I checked out Mr. Hein's web site and he has the nerve to ask $10,000!!! for a ONE DAY remote viewing training with him. Bloody hell!!
Where this book really gets fun is the section on aliens. It seems that horny alien females sexually force themselves on unsuspecting male earthlings. Poor sods. It's hysterical. And of course the aliens are "greys". And there is lots of blather about martians and their communities under our various mountains. Talk about tired cliches from the 70s.
It would be the height of ignorance to assume that we on Earth are the only intelligent (I use the term loosely) beings in the Universe, but to believe that enlightened beings from other worlds would choose to hang out with (and apparently experiment upon) these groups of dullards described in the book beggars belief. An open mind is vital as long as our brain doesn't fall out.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2020This book had a skeptical outlook and influenced readers to believe that mos5 crop circles were made by humans and not visitors from another dimension trying to communicate.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2018I am going to recommend that you buy this book, borrow it, recommend that your local library carry it also...heck, steal this book if you must! It's a delightful, informative compendium of the most provocative subjects of our lives and times.Thank you Dr.Simeon Hein, I love the way you put your heart and soul into your subjects and make complex issues easy to understand without losing the thorough coverage.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2014I purchased this book on iTunes as an audible book. The author reads the book as if the listener has an understanding of all terms used. I had to stop after chapter 2 because I had no idea of what he is talking about. It seems to me by the way he reads he does not even know his own material. I got the impression someone else wrote the book and Dr Hein is just reading the words as many are misprounced, the reading is choppy. Terrible...hope the actual book is better.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2014opening minds is an excellent book dealing with human consciousness and it's affects on nature. in this book mr. hein explains how we can consciously interact with energy fields and how that affects our natural environment. this book does an exceptional job in explaining remote viewing and how to train your mind from subconscious processing to conscious. topics also include crop circles and alien landscapes. with rediscovering our energies, we become more creative in our lives and environment. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in tapping into our unconscious energies. also has a great introduction by jim marrs.

You need an open mind to ingest this, but I really enjoyed it and read it in one day (on holiday). Couldn't put it down.
