- Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2010Have you ever wondered "why?", "how?", or just simply marveled at the beauty of nature and the universe and tried to grapple with what or who made it so, when and how? Have the explanations of both religion and science been short in giving you the answers that bring you comfort, context and a way forward?
If so, then "Spontaneous Evolution" is a book you must read. The book explores faith and science through the ages and shows the fallacies that have led us to where we are today. Rather than painting a picture of gloom, Lipton and Bhaerman point out new ways of thinking - new paradigms that give comfort and hope. These thoughts will challenge your way of thinking, and you may even find them uncomfortable, but they are important thoughts that are grounded in truth that is found at the apex of new edge science and the power and strength of human faith and destiny.
I find myself thinking about, and discussing this book constantly and have been reconnected spiritually - with context. The structure of the book is brilliant, zooming in and out of cell-biology, fractal geometry, human history, political science and more, but they are are all joined together to form a rich foundation for a positive future. I certainly got a lot out of this book and have learned much by reading it. I thank the authors for putting together such an excellent and helpful book.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2009Spontaneous Evolution is an amazing compendium of knowledge, new-edge science, and wisdom. The basal paradigms that Lipton and Bhaerman identify as the foundations for human belief system eras are brilliantly presented and organized for clarity. They illustrate how we got to "here" and how we can get to a safer, happier "there" through a spontaneous awakening that is a possibility of expanded human awareness.
Especially of interest is their recounting of the influence of Native Americans, in particular the Iroquois Confederacy, on the United States Declaration of Independence and Articles of Confederation. Our nation's founding really was revolutionary, yet we have strayed so far from these founding principles by allowing special interests to supersede our collective goals.
Not only have we been hoodwinked into becoming a nation of debtors (not the goal of our Founding Fathers, by the way), we have also been led to believe we are fragile beings at the mercy of Nature, which we must subdue and conquer in order to survive. Lipton and Bhaerman provide insights from new-edge science that reveal the opposite: we are powerful beings capable of self-healing and regeneration, and the sooner we stop ingesting harmful pharmaceuticals and instead embrace a healthy mind and diet, the healthier we will be as individuals and a collective.
Fixing our personal and national health, both financially and physically, requires releasing outdated beliefs based on old paradigmatic thinking that arose from limited human knowledge and experience. We know better now, and we have a road map to a brighter future, thanks to Spontaneous Evolution!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2010In Spontaneous Evolution Bruce Lipton and Stephen Bhaerman have taken "new age" thinking out of the realm of wishful thinking and into the realm of hard science. In the process they've slaughtered more than a few sacred cows. In particular they bring together the evidence that Darwinian Evolution's theory of natural selection is simply not valid on two critical points: we are not predestined to a specific fate by our genes and fitness-oriented mutations are not necessarily random. A growing body of scientists concur. Using fractal imagery, our authors show how the fitness-oriented change in living creatures, including humans, follow the same fitness oriented change patterns seen in cells and that change can be purposeful -- a response to the environment. And that these changes can be passed on to succeeding generations. Their hopeful message is that just as trillions of cells come together in a purposeful way to create humans, humans can come together in a purposeful way and create humanity. The future of humankind is not, by any means, predetermined. But as 2012 approaches (and the date is symbolic, not precise -- an impending collapse of existing structures)Lipton and Bhaerman point to a way we can shed old perceptions and restructure humanity saving our species from probable extinction.
The message of Spontaneous Evolution is delivered in a remarkable fashion, with Bhaerman's humor tempering Lipton's scientific precision. The book is an enjoyable, thought-provoking read. Don't miss this one.

Mary DReviewed in Canada on October 24, 20205.0 out of 5 stars Informative, inspiring Must-Read!
EVERYONE should read Spontaneous Evolution! Lipton explains that we now know that humans can “evolve with intention”. He says, “The first step is to rewrite the fundamental story that civilization currently uses to create reality.”
Our story has changed. Our older science (ie. Newton and Darwin) has been upgraded with a newer scientific understanding: quantum physics and epigenetics. We need to reprogram our subconscious beliefs, now knowing “the purely mental nature of the universe”. Spontaneous Evolution is a tour de force, discussing a broad range of ideas, from banking’s fractional reserve system to the intelligence of the heart. Lipton explains how science now knows that “we co- create reality with our beliefs, perceptions, thoughts, and feelings”. This is a new hope for our world, our species.
RahulReviewed in India on February 26, 20205.0 out of 5 stars THE book of Evolution.
Firstly it talks about the advancements in science and how the common folks aren’t updated.
The author proposes : based on the Fractal Mathematics of nature, if 50 Trillion cells in our body can work with such wonderful harmony, why can’t humans replicate the same with the society.
He talks about what exactly stops us from achieving that and how every one of us can participate to achieve it.
Research material from quantum mechanics (The Field), Lamarck’s evolution theory of cooperation (against Darwinian theory of survival of the fittest), epigenetics (in short how beliefs affect biology), conscious/subconscious mind, fractals etc. are quoted.
Cover other topics like how “culture and parents influence minds” and how the economy should really be.
If nothing of the above impresses you, just treat it as a “well-being” book.
Collectively, we could evolve ourselves and our planet. Sounds cool to me.
“Biology of Belief’ from the same author is a good read too.

Cliente AmazonReviewed in Brazil on July 1, 20175.0 out of 5 stars Ótima leitura. Obra prima!
