Gregg Braden is a five-time New York Times best-selling author, researcher, educator, lecturer and internationally renowned as a pioneer bridging science, spirituality, and human potential.
From 1979 to 1991 Gregg worked as a problem solver during times of crisis for Fortune 500 companies, including Cisco Systems where he became the first Technical Operations Manager in 1991. He continues problem-solving today as he merges modern science and the wisdom of our past to reveal real-world solutions to the issues that challenge our lives. His research has led to 15 film credits and 12 award-winning books now published in over 40 languages.
Gregg is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and is active with visionary organizations including the HeartMath Global Coherence Initiative and The Arlington Institute. He has presented his discoveries in over 30 countries on six continents and has been invited to speak to The United Nations, Fortune 500 companies and the U. S. military.
The United Kingdom’s Watkins Journal lists Gregg among the top 100 of “the world’s most spiritually influential living people” for the 7th consecutive year, and he is a 2020 nominee for the prestigious Templeton Award, established to honor “outstanding individuals who have devoted their talents to expanding our vision of human purpose and ultimate reality.”

Interested in our world?
This book is so relevant for our time. As a retired biology teacher interested in spirituality this book contains volumes of information that speaks to me. I feel it's ring of truth for today. It's most difficult to keep pace with the massive volume of information present today. I am synthesizing as I progress trying to derive meaning from all the "apparent" chaos.
This guy is very good... he uses science to help us catch up so that some of the major problems facing humanity today may have a different point of reference based on the newest science fact. Paradigm shift might be an appropriate term. We are living in a huge lag time for scientific information. We are teaching out dated information and it's that information that keeps us bound in a time that is no longer functional for humanities healthiest survival.
For science people, math people and people interested in the latest truth from a scientific point of view.
For instance: Chimps have 48 chromosomes we have 46 it seems that there has been 2 chromosomes that have fused to make one for us. I found that most interesting. Especially how he reflects upon this information. The "truth" that DNA codes one code=one protein, no longer a truth. Just 2 of the facts he has woven into the fabric of this book. This just speaks volumes to me, personally, about how we cling to our out dated information. You know, as humans, we have a tendency to "own" our information. We are so fearful of being duped. We strive for the "truth" of it all many times kicking and screaming as we fear we might lose our hold on "our" truths.
A quote from Gregg Braden's newest book just released, "Deep Truth"
"We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom. The world henceforth will be run by synthesizers, people able to put together the right information at the right time" This is a quote attributed to evolutionary biologist E. O. Wilson.
I highly recommend this book, Gregg Braden is a geologist/explorer and a synthesizer.
He brings to light much of the newest information and how it reflects on our world.
It's easy to read. If he uses the difficult science jargon he goes on to explain what it means in easy to understand terms. Gregg Braden is truly a "Deep Truth" thinker. I applaud his gift of synthesizing information for us during a very pivotal crucial time.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2013I always love books by Gregg Braden...
This is an interesting perspective on some deep issues that we humans are facing right now. I do believe that we are at a crossroads of some kind... and I do believe that information is kept from us that keep us from knowing exactly what those issues are
Our history is not as it is taught to us in school
I may not agree with everything that Gregg Braden says - does anyone ever agree 100% with anyone :) But I do agree with him on most points - and he has me looking at some issues with a different perspective
A good read - and very thought provokin
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2013What if the past 5,000 years of recorded history is not the first civilization to flourish on this planet? What if we are just one of many- and living in the same circumstances that caused the great civilizations before us to collapse and die? Geologist Gregg Braden discusses evidence of our past, the challenges of our present and how we respond affects our future. A thought provoking book.
The only reason I give this a 4 and not a five star is the need for more careful editing. A fact presented repeatedly as 300-400 years is (a typo?) 800 years in the summary. I found the editorial errors to be a distraction, but the book is a worthwhile read nonetheless. The information in it should be taught in our schools, not the outdated nonsense that sends our children into the future uneducated and unprepared for the challenges our leadership of the past 120 years has dumped in their laps.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2014Gregg Braden not only writes about love without condition, but he helps you get there. Some of his theses are that humans are fundamentally a cooperative species, not a warlike one; much of what is called climate change is not caused by human activity; we didn't come out of nowhere; and we have the power and the will to re-write the future to conform more with our essential nature than current trends might seem to point to. He explodes the false "either/or's" that we are constantly faced with, such as Creative Design or Evolution. His conclusions are based on facts and well presented. I found him thought provoking and refreshing.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2011This is a great book for creating a sense of urgency for planetary/social change and is truly one of the most enlightening and entertaining books I've ever read! Many people are waking up to the opportunity before us to create a new world based on living the principles of truth and compassion. Greg Braden is helping lead the way by providing scientific evidence that we're heading down a path of destruction that mankind has traveled before. He urges us to chose a better path, to WAKE UP RIGHT NOW and to start making important changes in the way we live our lives. Thank you Greg!!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2013For quite some time, the "story" of how things came to be has been debated by most in the West as a choice between two possibilities: "God" created everything in 7 days OR mankind evolved slowly over many years into what we are today. Gregg describes in great detail why neither one of these ideas contain the truth but that, instead, it is a blending of the two that explains our existence and how we got "here." Gregg presents facts and evidence he has discovered during his travels around the world that clearly highlight the information we have been "missing" and the false premises in some of our science that has been leading us down the wrong paths. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to everyone.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2014This award winning book is fantastic - Gregg broke down the "big truths" of our times to help make sense of the issues and crisis that we are facing and also how we got to those places. This is a great book and primer for people wanting to know why the world works the way it does. I highly recommend this book and wish it was required reading for high school students.

I received my book within a week and it was in perfect condition even though it was used. The book is very interesting talking about scientific theories and how science has changed with the discovery of quantum physics. It's an easy read and provides lots of information for discussions.

JanReviewed in France on November 24, 20133.0 out of 5 stars For newly awakened people
This book will be perfect for those new to the trail of scientific discoveries. There's nothing in here that you cannot research for yourself easily on the internet. Greg Bradens videos are a great source, which I recommend (even though he waffles on), but IMHO, as an author he lacks skills unless you consider 'filling' a skill. If one could condense everything in this book to the core issues, it would only be a third of its size.
Repetitive information, lots of waffle, irrelevant information and alot of talking about himself, with promises throughout of ground breaking new data further on in the book which never really comes off.
I'd give it one star, but then I think it might be useful for people who are new to this kind of thing, hence the 3 stars.
If you are looking for a deep, riveting, eye-opening read that is intellectually stirring, this is not for you.
C. J. WebbReviewed in the United Kingdom on May 30, 20135.0 out of 5 stars he does bang on a bit, though
its like he padded it out somewhat and in the process he sometimes loses his train of thought, or logical progression from point to point so it can be a bit annoying trying to figure out where he's going or been or whatever. HOWEVER, I enjoyed this book even though he does make some giant leaps of assumption. there's good stuff in here, you just have to sift a bit.
