- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2019Perfect for our distracted, cheated, pissed off, scared, and worried generation. A great introduction to the reality your parents avoided and ignored and tried to keep you away from. It is often said that truth is subversive. This is particularly true in our society. Combined with the unbelievable ugliness and moral depravity of our history, culture, and institutions, it is easy to reject more realistic descriptions regardless of the facts or evidence present.
This is where Lee comes in. With comedy and sarcasm used to support the often rejected true narrative of our society, it is easy to stick around, let your guard down and absorb the information. Together with Lees ability to see through the bullshit and realize that right or left the struggle is one of class, there is a general sense of inclusivity, community, and the feeling that you aren't alone driving and present throughout. To say this is a breathe of fresh air is an understatement.
Read this book. It is funny, short, and you will be a better person when you are through.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2012Lee Camp breaks hypocrisy down into digestable, hilarious pieces. This book reads like an instruction manual on dealing with the injustice and inequality that can seem inescapable. He tackles everything from wealth disparity to climate change to apathy to the rampant bad spelling plaguing our culture.
The Kindle version includes links to the original videos, making it a chronology of social commentary. There's a chapter-antidote for almost anything threatening to ruin your day. I highly recommend Moment of Clarity for those who appreciate being challenged to laugh and think at the same time. Pass it on to anyone in need of a cathartic release. (Hint: these days, that's everyone you know.)
- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2017Lee's style if humor will punch you in the gut then make fun of you for crying like a baby! He mixes truth with snarky humor and uses the most let's say "colorful" metaphores and similes. Very insightful and unapologetic comentary on the current state of reality in the US.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2013This book is some of Lee Camp's more popular videos in text form, which made it a lot easier to use as a reference for school papers. I love referring to it with friends and loaning it out to create new fans. This is also a good way to support Lee Camp without having to go out to the place he performs.
