- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2017The Syrian war consists of many conflicts. In addition to being a struggle against the country's regime, Syria became a scene - and the war an opportunity - for rivalry between countries in the region. In particular Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia, as well as Qatar, were active in Syria to promote their own political interests.
The book, which is actually an one-on-one interview with state senator Richard Black from Virginia and author Sarah Westall, discusses how the United States maneuvers in this war game, and they question America's alliance with Islamic terrorists. They also talk about the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and other conflicts around the world where the US has been involved or participates in for the time being. These conflicts aren't necessarily easy to explain. The truth isn't necessarily easy to find. The first casualty of war is truth. And if you see conflicts from different places of view, you will also see that they have other perspectives than those that come in the black and white descriptions in classic news reports in main stream newspapers, radio and television. This book gives you that other perspective.
The book discusses how the opposition to the Baath regime is politically fragmented and military uncoordinated. It lacks a political platform and military leadership, and has been unable to present an alternative for a future government in Syria. So the question remains; why are so many interested in fueling this conflict? This is not the end of the story, for sure.
You could think that a Q&A interview like this would be monotonous and tedious. But it isn't. The topic is interesting, the perspectives are different, and the dynamic conversation between the interviewer and the interviewee is great. Therefore it's difficult to stop reading it. The book is a page-turner.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2017The “Wrong Side of History”, by Sarah Westall, is a book that presents itself in the form of an interview. It covers world events from the end of World War II through today, with a focus on Syria. Her Interviewee, Senator Richard Black, a Virginia State Senator, who has many years of experience working in related fields over the years, and a specific insight on Syria, Bashar al Assad, his wife Asma Assad, and the Syrian people, is quite informative.
The Book, interview, covers many of the countries within the region, and how they have interacted, not only with Syria; but, the many struggles presently going on.
It also addresses the actions taken by NATO in recent times; and specifically, the United States. It calls into question the motives of the United States; and mentioning some specifics, how the “insighted” region by outside influences have led to the point we are at today. This leads us to pay attention to the tomorrows.
As in a Screen Play being written for a movie, the book arranges the elements impacted by a Middle East Region being torn apart. We are told of some of the impact of the past and the present. One time line scenario places up to 4 million Non-Muslims in grave danger.
While we wait for the last Chapters of this Screen Play to be placed on paper. We, the people of the World, are witnessing on a day to day basis, the good decisions and the bad decisions play out, and witnessing the devastating Worldwide impact.
It is still too soon for the Epilogue to this story to be written. We can hope that the “Awakening” of what is occurring in this tragedy will cause changes for the better; however, the emotional damage inflected by destroying nations of the Middle East has challenged compassion to clash with common since. This Free Will Challenge, has open the door to those seeking only Power and Control. The resulting optic prism of players in the game, will change The Free World. Optimism is our only choice.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2017This important work provides clear insight into the driving forces working tirelessly behind the scenes in order to promulgate endless war. It lays bare the scurrilous deception of mainstream media and the crime gang agencies committing ongoing war crimes. A compelling and entirely convincing overview.
