I bought this book a little too later for my research level- I have been doing genealogy for over 13 years so some of the info was a little elementary for me but that does not take away from the value of the information! She goes through steps to get valuable and accurate information but also citing it. which is important because if you don't cite it that means it basically does not exist. Also, she covers all backgrounds, races, religions, and dialects which I found some authors choose not to do.. Very good book!

Arrived on time in great shape! The book is fascinating for the newly interested genealogy minded. Filled with insights regarding the times and locations migrated from and to. It is the key reference I've been looking for.

I had this book out from the library and because of the huge numbers of sites and information I decided it would be a necessary addition to my genealogy reference books. It has examples of her work which helps, i.e., pictures of actual documents, and extensive resources to go to.

Ms Carmack lays out all the methods and tools to make "off-shore" ancestor research very productive and rewarding. A very necessary reference for research.

I am still reading this book. I am skipping around, reading only the things that might be relevant to my research of ancestors. There is a lot of good material in this book. I am studying it, that why it is taking long to find what I am looking for.
