A Woman Rides the Beast: The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days Paperback – August 15, 1994
Purchase options and add-ons
Are you missing half the story about the last days? Virtually all attention these days is focused on the coming Antichrist―but he is only half the story. Many people are amazed to discover in Revelation 17 that there is also another mysterious character at the heart of prophecy―a woman who rides the beast.
Who is this woman? Tradition says she is connected with the church of Rome. But isn’t such a view outdated? After all, today’s Vatican is eager to join hands with Protestants worldwide. “The Catholic church has changed” is what we hear.
Or has it? In A Woman Rides the Beast, prophecy expert Dave Hunt sifts through biblical truth and global events to present a well-defined portrait of the woman and her powerful place in the Antichrist’s future empire. Eight remarkable clues in Revelation 17 and 18 prove the woman’s identity beyond any reasonable doubt.
A provocative account of what the Bible tells us is to come.

About the author

Born in 1926, Dave enjoyed the advantages of a godly upbringing, and placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord in his early teens.
He received a degree in mathematics from U.C.L.A. Marriage to his wife, Ruth, was followed by the birth of four children, a career as CPA/management consultant and, later, the management of several corporations. Along with church-related activities, Dave initiated and became involved in numerous campus ministries and meetings in his home, with a special outreach to Jewish young people and foreign students.
Since 1973 Dave’s desire for fulltime ministry has found fulfillment through authorship of books dealing with the incursion, into Western culture and the church itself, of Eastern, psychological and selfist philosophies, ecumenism, and other unbiblical teachings. Concern over Islamic politics and religion are reflected in current articles, lectures and interviews.
At least 4 million copies of his books have been sold and have been translated into more than 50 languages. They include: The Cult Explosion, The God Makers, The New Spirituality, The Seduction of Christianity, Global Peace and the Rise of Antichrist, Occult Invasion, A Cup of Trembling, In Defense of the Faith, An Urgent Call to a Serious Faith , What Love Is This?, Countdown to the Second Coming, Seeking and Finding God, Honest Doubts, Judgment Day! Islam, Israel, and the Nations, Yoga and the Body of Christ, and his latest book, Cosmos, Creator and Human Destiny.
His video, Israel, Islam & Armageddon has become a tremendous tool for churches and others interested in helping spread the truth about events prior to and since the attack on the World Trade Center.
Dave’s impeccable research and recognized scholarship are based on in depth studies of original documents and publications, interviews with key experts from around the world, and extensive travel—including to South America, Australia, Europe and throughout the Middle East.
Friday, April 5, 2013, Dave Hunt drew his final breath and entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His beloved wife Ruth was at his side.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2019Based on what I know about the Roman Empire, the New World Order and Holy Bible, this book is excellent reading and packed with truth. As far as making his point there's an overkill of information, but I like having the information because the Catholic Church has erased a lot of its history. For one thing Peter the Apostle was not a Pope, he was married, and was crucified by the Emperor of Rome like all the other Apostles including Paul. The Roman Catholic Church is an extension or replacement for the Roman Empire and has killed more Christians than the Emperor who thought he was God and wanted to be worshiped. What is the difference between him and the Pope? Peter never allowed anyone to worship him, he said worship God only just like the bible says. There is no Vicar of Christ according to the Bible, there is no mediator between God and man, 1 timothy 2:5. The Catholic Church was set up to deceive Christians, their doctrine is the opposite of the Bible, this is why they tell their people not to read it without an interpreter (deceiver). They worship idols which is clearly a sin in the Bible, they purchase and earn forgiveness of sins with money and through rituals which is not possible according to the Bible. I could go on and on but if anyone wants to know the truth they should read the Bible for themselves and obey the advice of Jesus Christ to not trust in a man, trust God only, is our eternal life really worth it? Can we afford to be wrong? Read the New Testament, read the teachings of Jesus Christ and you will know the truth, he is the truth, he is the only source of truth in this world and the Catholic Church does not want you to know this. It is a sin to bow down to an idol or image of anything and the Catholics removed the fifth commandment and they command people to bow down to the Pope and idols like the Virgin Mary. Here is the forth & fifth commandment from the Holy Bible which they do not want you to read:
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; (Exodus 20,KJV)
I recommend the Holy Bible to anyone searching for truth. Educate yourself, do not be deceived by this Church. Educate yourself about the Beast and the Harlot, NWO, and Satan as well, the church does not want you to know about satan or hell, but they are real and the less you know the more satan likes it! Also purgatory is made up, it's not in the bible. Which always made me wonder who they were serving anyway? They have sent more people to hell than any other Church, The Mother of Harlots, The Great Whore, they literally do serve the God of this world, Satan, and they do not want the people to know. Please educate yourself and make your decision, Jesus is coming soon, theres not much time, make him your Lord and Savior not the Pope!
Ok, there was a problem with the temple and the AntiChrist. In chapter 'Unfolding Revelation' , sub-chapter called 'First and Future AntiChrist', he says: "The AntiChrist pretends to be Christ and is worshiped by the world so the people worshiping him must be Christians." I totally disagree, 1. because the Christians have been raptured already, the people who worship him are the ones who are NOT written in the book of life, he gave the right scripture but did not read the whole thing. (Rev.13:8). 2. This happens in 'Jerusalem', this is a 'Jewish Temple', no Christians. The Jews are the ones waiting for the Christ, not the Christians, we believe he has already come, it is the foundation of our belief system. God Bless.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2009Let me begin by saying that I am a huge fan of David Hunt. He is an incredible scholar who truly investigates before he writes. He is a profoundly deep individual who throws himself into researching the topic on which he is writing.
This book will change the way you view the Catholic church as a whole. From the very creation of the Catholic church to its height of popularity and on into its modern form, Dave Hunt exposes it for what it truly is....the woman astride the beast. This book will doubtless offend almost any catholic who gives of their time to read it, and rightly so! It flies in the face of everything that they (devout Catholics) hold sacred. None the less it is truth and history is there to back it up. I think that's what I like so much about this book, it's not JUST Hunts theories. This book is Hunts theories with history's backing! I am always amazed how this world turns a blind eye and a deaf ear to all the horrific events of our past...our factual past. Hunt exposes the anti-Semitisms of the Catholic church which was displayed during Hitler's reign of terror over the Jews and the Churches blatant (proactive) involvement in the whole travesty. Hunt also breaks down piece by piece just how the Catholic church represent the woman who rides the beast. The Catholic church can be no other than this woman astride the beast! From her garments, the cup in her hand, her drunkenness with the blood of the Saints, etc...it all fits the bill!
Many who might read this review may be thinking, "Wait a minute, the protestant church doesn't have such a rosy past, this guy is a hypocrite!" You're right, the protestant church does have a scarred past which Dave openly attests to and condemns. When it comes down to it, that fact is not what church (denomination) you belong to but rather, whom you follow. Do you follow a church or do you follow Christ? Do you do what a priest or the Pope tells you, or do you do what the Holy Spirit directs you to do according to the Word of God? The difference is astounding!
All in all I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever had any sort of interest in the Catholic church and understanding the depths of its beliefs and traditions. I would also recommend this book to anyone who is trying to understand end times events, this will help round the edges to your understanding of the events which have and are to take place. Finally, I recommend this book to any Catholic individual who is willing to be challenged on their beliefs. Keep in mind, this book is NOT twisting the arm of any Catholic to leave Jesus Christ. This book is a wakeup call to find out WHO Christ is and NOT what the Catholic church says He is. You will find that what you are told about Jesus from your Priest and the Pope are vastly different from what the Bible (the very thoughts of God) testify Christ to be. Topics covered in this book which address the unbiblical teachings of the church include:
* Indulgences
* Peter, the first pope
* Marriage and priesthood
* Forgiveness of sin through confession
* The infallibility of the pope (incredible argument that will take the wind out of any sail)
* And many other topics that are too vast to include here
Again, read this book and decide for yourself! Do your research, become educated and make informed decisions about your faith and relationship with Christ. Enjoy this book and God bless.

This book is well researched and gives a great insight into the deeds of the Roman Catholic Church.
jenniferReviewed in India on August 18, 20245.0 out of 5 stars The truth about the RC church
I'm re-reading this book which I bought from a Christian bookstore years ago. I'm an ex Roman Catholic and am now a born again Bible believer who loves my Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only Saviour. There is no other. He is the Creator. He is before all things and in Him all things consist. Dave Hunt, as in all his well-researched books, is spot on about the heresies of the Roman Catholic Church. Wish he were alive today. He was so right about the antisemitism that has taken over the whole world. Surely the Ezekiel 38 war is round the corner.

Robert JonesReviewed in Canada on August 31, 20185.0 out of 5 stars Exposing the truth regarding Rome and the end times
This is an eye opener for those who don't realize the difference between Christianity and religion! Matthew 15:6-9 Christ tells the religious elite of His day that "they make the word of God of none effect by their traditions and in vain worship Him teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." cf. also Colossians 2:8-10 - This equally applies today to Roman Catholicism. Dr. Hunt brings out the clear truths regarding the false religion of Rome and how they fit into the end times one world religion. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in seeing the way Rome's ecumenical movement in the last days brings about end times Bible prophesies. True Christians will have no part of this false movement. Thanks - Bob Jones
