This is a great and fun little book. I have used it for myself on and off, and I also use it for my work(I am a psychologist who does couples counseling.) Usually one member of a couple is more spontaneous than the other. Sometimes I give this book to the less spontaneous partner to encourage him or her to initiate those "spontaneous" moments. I call it a "lover's cheat sheet."

John and Julie Gottman, who have done a great deal of research on relationships, have found that couples can endure a lot of negativity If they also get to enjoy positive experiences together. Couples therapy often involves working through difficult feelings, and the loving gifts suggested in this little book can help balance out that hard work with moments of brilliant pleasure.

There are some nice little ideas in here but for the most part it's silly and horribly impractical little gestures of love. I understand that there's nothing practical about romance but there are some pointers in here that I would literally need to be a helicopter pilot in order to pull off. Not really all that usefull.

I'm pretty creative, and even found some things I wouldn't have thought of. Written from male-female relationship perspective, but most examples can be adapted for same gender relationships. Highly recommend for someone who gets stumped about what to do to wow their partner.
