It's Jon Stewart! Need I say more? Okay I will. This is laugh out loud humor at its most politically incorrect best. Stephen Colbert was still writing with Stewart when this book was published.

It's a great look at the "most exceptional country in the world." If we can't laugh at our foibles and yes, its infantile humor at times, then we are lost.

This book was written EIGHT years ago...look at how far we have strayed into partisan thinking. Hopefully Stewart will make you see that we Americans are VERY much alike!

With a foreword from Thomas Jefferson himself and a couple of charts, America is definitely a well written book. It's also well organized, and make sure you read it from cover to cover!
"In this chapter, we will learn about the founding mothers, and the so called FMILFS."
Hilarity ensues. Made for anyone who has at least finished high school, since many of the references include history!
The best part for me personally is the fact that it's made and written like an actual textbook. I had the book on my bed and my dad totally thought it was one of my college textbooks!
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert keep on doing it over and over again!

Very hilarious and sadly funny but true. Sarcasm with an honest twist of American history. John Stewart always serves political comedy up like a five star restaurant serves its' entrees.

This book satirizes a high school government textbook to the T, including silly but profoundly critical discussion questions, diagrams explaining the least functioning parts of the government, and wonderfully wry reinterpretations of historical events. Be prepared for media and government critiques similar to those featured on Stewart's show, which, if we're honest, might be a better education about how things work than other interpretations.

We used this for my College Writing English college course.
The book is hilarious and I loved the class because it was all on humor.

This is a fantastic book that cheekily represents the actions and motivations of political action since the birth of the nation. While it is obviously skewed by the writer's POV, it is genuinely entertaining and also makes fantastic points. I wouldn't recommend it as a textbook, as it is most definitely written from a biased dogma, but if you agree that this nation has gone in a poor direction, this will at least make you laugh about it, and may also motivate you to do something about it.

I love the textbook style layout of the book. I wish the textbooks I had in school were as amusing as this one. Full of sarcasm and satire and is great for fans of Jon Stewart.

I have just paged through some of it but from what I've already read it should be (hopefully) get even better. I like how it does almost seem like one of your text books from school.
