I was excited about getting a look at this book, but I'll pass it along to some one else or donate it pretty quickly. The book lists plants good for various conditions, eg "tolerates drought" which is good to know, but neglects to mention what temperature range the plants can survive in. This is a pretty important information bit. Knowing about plants and what a person needs to know about them, I am able to see the gap and the importance of the gap. This makes me unwilling to rely on this book as a resource, because, in an area where I lack knowledge, I won't be able to know whether it's lacking, so I'll need to research everything, and wasn't that what the book was supposed to cover for me?

There might be some good ideas in there, but in my opinion, it went to press too soon. It is perhaps a good draft of a future very good book, but not yet.

Hard to permaculture a life with this info. Too basic, wide scope without many details on the how to. Most of the book is about basic useful plants info. But again too basic, say vitamins, and some soil and weather requirements. Sorry Ross, I wouldn't recommend this book as an addition to a permaculture library
