In 61 years I've read multitudes of history books, and watched lots of skewed versions of our past on television. And, of all the information that has passed my eyes I can safely guarantee that THIS BOOK contains more truth on a wider range of historical topics than any single title you will ever find. The Hiram Key is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE for every library, and for every person on the planet.
It was not an easy read my first time through, simply because Knight and Lomas needed a good editor to make the words and ideas flow a bit more smoothly. But, after I got used to their style I could not put it down. In the first week I read it cover to cover several times, and was astonished by the breadth of the their discoveries.
These two blokes are just regular guys, and fellow Masons, who decided to dig into the background of some of the rather innocuous stuff we hear and recite in lodge. While we speculative Masons clearly understand the principles represented by all our spoken ritual, like most of that type of stuff it is often a bit mysterious and inexplicable in its language, carrying the requisite old world idiom of time during which is was written.
So, Christopher and Robert initially set out just to learn a bit more about the real history of Masonry. Yet, along the way they stumbled across many topics and details they never expected. As I followed their trek it was evident that they used the very best principles of research - question everything and look everywhere. They set about the task exactly like my favorite college history teacher recommended many years ago - to go forth randomly with a voracious appetite for discovery, while allowing the journey to bring you the truth rather than by some learned process. We students heard him say that during many years as a world-class historian (not his words) his best research was driven by randomly choosing a book, opening it without thought, and simply reading. Knight and Lomas did this quite often, as well as following other chance leads they found purely by accident.
What was also clear while reading The Hiram Key is that the work changed both authors. What they found affected their path through life, and the learning took on a life of its own, spawning several sequels and related books.
Well, I could make this review a book in itself, but to cut to the chase JUST BUY IT. You will never again be so amazed. If you are a history buff, it is a must read, and, if not you will become a history nut.

the amount of work these 2 author put into this book is absolutely incredible. I know much of the info they have is spot on. It's great to get clarity in a time that misinformation is corrupting so much. I like how they even share their personal thoughts that lead them further to find the True Truths. Interesting to learn who the Caananites truly are...which didn't quite surprise me since knowing about that culture how cruel of mentalities these particular beings are. I had come across info stating it was not Egypt who enslaved them....interesting to find out it was Babylon. That made far more sense than the other "mis-direction" This book will remain forever in my library. One of my 5 majors in college was in Religion....this book I accomplished more with it than the "many" books I Had to purchase in its perspective courses. I wish I had it back then!!! They most certainly remove the veils from secret societies & religions. I applaud their work & deeply admire their tenacity to keep going til you find the True Truth....testing & retesting til sound conclusion is reached. It's one to study...not to just read quickly thru. Will want to obtain all this info as you can possibly accomplish.

I read this book when she just came out back in 1998. It was quite shocking discovery.
Amazing work of authors digging for information for so many years. I am not a mason, nor their follower.
This book is not giving you all answers in the world. And you do not have to believe or trust in everything these guys are telling you. But, IMHO, it will make you think differently about human history, religion establishment, lies and cover-ups, and many other things.
For me, this book was a very valuable source of information that was missing for so many years. Puzzle I was trying to put together was solved almost completely. I have read more than 10,000 books in my life ( I am in my low 50s), but this one is in " Top 10" list!
Many thanks and respect to Mr. Lomas and M. Knight!

I have read so many books on this subject and I have to say that the Hiram Key is in my humble opinion the BEST! The authors have gone to such lengths to back up their conclusions by painstakingly researching history. I read this book with such a smile on my face because many of the other books that I have read contain fragments of the truth, but these guys have pulled it all together into a concise, clear and easy to understand presentation. I am not a mason (yet) but this book should be required reading for all masons to continue their membership in the craft. If you haven't purchased this book yet, BUY IT! If you have read it, read it again - I know I am!

Facts, Who does What, Why, Answers to Questions, The story behind the questions and the reasons for the answers. A very interestering read, deep history ties and so many branches to this tree. This will not only keep you going till the last page but you will be looking for some of the foot notes to read as well. It is like pulling on thread, but isn't that what education is all about?
