The only thing wrong with this book is that the author beat me to it, and did it better. The prosy style makes the book easy to read, and the stories are hilarious, interesting, surprising, or horrifying. A good read that anyone can enjoy.

great history revealed in these court cases. Many so funny as they tell of times my own ancestor lived in the same areas at the same time. Love this little book.

This is an excellent book! I am finding each and every historical account fascinating and I am certainly learning that things were not as pure as standard history books lead you to believe. The Naked Quaker is well written and I look forward to reading more books by the author.

Love the book. I ordered the book because The Naked Quaker is my 8x great-grandmother. I thought that story would be all I might be interested in reading. I was surprised how Diane Rapaport told such interesting stories by researching the old court records. Really interesting read and it's pretty crazy to know my grandmother was The Naked Quaker!

A really easy read. A great lesson in how there is nothing new under the sun.

The stories are perfect for what they originally were which is magazine articles. As a collection though they become repetitive and disjointed. I had this book with me on 2 5 hour flights, a 4 hour train ride and a similar length bus ride. I still was not able to get myself to continue reading it. Only one person out ten in my book club liked it.

A series of fascinating and often funny stories taken from court records during the colonial period. It just goes to show that there's nothing new under the sun -- drunkenness, adultery, public brawls and lawsuits seem to have been just as common then as they are now. Anybody who thinks the Puritans were just stuffy people in black and white clothes who never did anything fun should think again. I really enjoyed this.
