A little disappointed that there was not enough info on the men who served with the CCC, it seemed to be more centered on one particular it seemed to me.

I picked this book up at the visitiors center inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on 12 October 2010. For some reason I have always had a fasination with the park, those who occupied it before it became a park and those who helped build it. The author does not appear to be a writer but does tell good stories! His recollection and account of events is detailed enough to paint the picture in your mind as he reminices about his fond memories of the CCC. I could see myself being the same as Frank if I were in the CCC.
As best as I can figure, as of this date Mr. Davis must be about ninety-four years old so he may or may not be alive today. I would love to meet him and hear some more of his stories. I am sure this book contains a very small fraction of them.
If you have an interest in the CCC, buy the book. It is worth it!
Thanks Mr. Davis for an entertaining book. Write another one.
