Got the vinyl when the album was released. This is one of my favorite Daltrey solo albums. Still have the all his solo vinyls but like to update them to CDs. Only missing Rockin' Horse on CD that is out of print and priced high to complete the collection. Hope it gets reissued sometime soon.

This is a great solo effort from the lead vocalist of Britain's quintessential rock band. "Under a Raging" is Roger Daltrey at his absolute best. Starting off with another Pete Townshend gem, "After the Fire", Roger Daltrey really demonstrates why he is recognized as one of Rock and Roll's premier vocalists. Passionately delivered lyrics and great music all add up to a first-rate song here. Other entries like "Move Better in the Night" and Russ Ballard's "Don't Talk to Strangers" are real straight-forward rockers that highlight Daltrey's tough-edged style that he has utilized for such a long time as The Who's frontman. Lastly, the title track is a wonderful tribute to one of Rock music's original hellions.

All in all, a CD that I would highly recommend, especially to Who fans.

I owned this on cassette back in the mid 80's when it came out and played it to pieces. Finally replaced it on vinyl. One of my favorite Roger Daltrey albums. The title track is a homage to the late Keith Moon.

The title song, written as a tribute to the late Keith Moon, is Great, and Roger does it perfectly. The rest of the album is good. It's well worth having. If the powers-that-be have issued a proper (inexpensive) Best Of CD since the writing of this review, you might want to check it out before buying this one.

A really nice cd that grows on you. A third of the songs are great, a third decent, and the final third are “huh?”. Overall I can highly recommend it to anyone that likes Roger Daltry.

Dass es Daltrey auch solo richtig gut hinbekommen kann, bewies er mit diesem Album. Tolle Songs, tolle Produktion und super Gastmusiker.

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 6, 2011
1980s were tough times for every rocker, but this is somehow counter-argument. "After The Fire" (written by Pete Townshend himself) recaps sentimental mood & bitter regret that fills this forgotten gem.

"Under The Raging Moon" is as good as everything Daltrey's Mothership, The Who, ever recorded.

If you are looking for good 80s album by major rocker this is the place.

CD ist etwas für 80'Jahre Freak's.
Toller Sound und Rhytmus ziehen sich durch die ganze CD.
Daltrey's Stimme is teinfach unverkennbar, vor allem bei dem Titel "After the Fire".
