The air is dreamy, the mood is mystical, the sound drifts slowly over a wash of synthesizers and layers of voices. It is that indefinable, new age, "Celtic" sound that wraps around artists like Enya. Clannad have great singers, great musicians, and even some great ideas. But by the time they got to making Lore, they had developed a wispy atmosphere, to the point of sounding like they were recorded under a bale of cotton. If you like your Celtic music with personality, with acoustic driven energy and a bit of dancing, then this album, like so many others in the genre, will drive you out of the room. If Celtic means soft, relaxing mood music, then this Clannad album is for you. - -Louis Gibson

Co-Produced with Hugh Padgham, the album consists of mostly original compositions by the band members. Some are sung in English and some are sung in their native Gallic. These remastered tracks are a wonder. The music is rich, and clear, and beautifully performed. There can be no doubt that Clannad were a forerunner for what would later become the New Age movement - a comparison I'm sure they would bristle at, but I think an argument could made in its favor.
Yet the real gem here is the bonus remix of "Croi Croga." This track is a stunning mix of Ambient jazz, old school R&B club-groove, and slow-dance Top 40 pop. If the remix were twenty minutes long, it would still be too short to satisfy. Without question this is one of the most bad-ass tracks I've ever heard by any artist, let alone a traditional Irish folk band. The only word to describe it is amazing.
Recommended, and five stars for the bonus track.

The songs on this record are very strong and more cohesiative to each after than the ones on different albums. The mood can be called mystic and ethereal although the sounds are more progressive than their previous albums. Some great folk pieces, multivocal tracks, jazz and Celtic ambient tracks can be found here and I am sure these ones are soul-touching. There is no bad track on the record!
One of the best songs is 'Seanchas' ,which is an uptempo jazzy piece, sung in Irish Gaelic. it was released as the first single off this record. The majestic 'A Bridge (That Carries Us Over)' is another masterpieces alongside with 'Broken Pieces' (written by Moya). From the folk pool and the love folk ballad 'Trathnona Beag Areir' was recorded and it is one of the most wonderful tracks of Clannad. The other traditional song is 'Alasdair Macolla' is a Scottish "waulking" song.
It can be seen that with this album Clannad has created a milestone in their career towards the sky!
This album should have won the Grammy Award in 1997!
The Customer Service & Speedy Delivery has made all the difference & this is why I will Certainly be Purchasing other Music Disc's from this Seller in the near Future.
