As a hard core Moody Blues fan, I read an article about Tony Clarke producing this album in the Moody Blues magazine Higher and Higher. Since Tony Clarke did a fantastic job with the Moodies, I thought I'd try this album out and see just what it was like. The article I read indicated that Tony Clark was asked to produce Clannad's Legend album, a task which he under took. He was supposed to incorporate the sounds of the Moody Blues, Alan Parsons, and Pink Floyd rolled into one. Again, Tony Clarke came through. Legend is one brilliant album and if you listen closely, you can hear the Parsons, Moodies, and Floyd influences in this recording. This is one of the best recording I have heard in a very long time. It is relaxing, a bit New Age yet quenches the thirst of the soul for some brilliant entertainment. If your an Alan Parsons, Pink Floyd and/or Moody Blues fan, you're going to love this CD. Incorporating the sounds of three supergroups, I would imagine, would be a very difficult task. Tony Clarke in all his brilliance managed to do that and yet kept the Irish roots of Clannad rolled into one. This is a definate must for anyone!

Since Amazon sends me an email titled,"Did Legend meet you expectations?" It's Clannad and Robin of Sherwood! Clannad... Awesome musical group and amazing vocals plus Robin of Sherwood, the best televised telling of the legend ever! Like a million others I watched Robin on PBS in the 80's. I recently discovered it again on Amazon Prime. Though only season 1. It's fun to rediscover the show and the wonderful soundtrack. Now if only the DVDS weren't so expensive.

This is the 2003 Remaster cd of Clannad's infamous Legend 1984 album.Hauntingly beautiful music by Irish celtic band Clannad. This is the definitive album that made Clannad famous.I still have the original Legend album on tape from 1984!. This Legend cd has some of Clannad's best music. A must for any fan of the great BBC Robin Hood tv series 0f 1984. This Legend cd is a real treasure. As You will not find it in any mainstream music stores.I know, I searched for a long time with no success. It is a remastered import cd. The sound quality is very good. Much better than the original 1984 Tape cassette. Reasonably priced and prompt delievery.

Did you love Robin Hood of Sherwood the British TV series? I sure did! I recently rediscovered it on Amazon Prime Video and remembered how much I loved the music featured. So I looked up the soundtrack and This is it. All the great songs from the show. The music and the show immersive and wonderful.

I loved the old Robin Hood show back in the day.... And when I found out who did it, I had to grab it. So, I really like one or two tracks on it and the rest is fine, just not as attractive to me. By fine I mean very well done and well themed, but I bought it for two tracks.

One of my favorite Robin hood shows of all time. Clannad's music is some of the best Celtic music ever heard. Lots of other groups mimic there style and play a lot of their songs just to get noticed.

I have always wanted to get the theme music from the Robin Hood series shown some years ago on PBS and finally purchased it here. Clanned weaves a contemporary mix of Celtic, Irish, folk music into a wonderfully original sound of memorable melodies in the tunes in this album.

Buy if you were 80s child - it sounds even better now - quality from the great irish sooth singers

Oh my word - little did I remember of this superb soundtrack to my childhood - I was about 7 when I was watching this and rmember we had the cassette version on the spin regularly in the house - and from the point of view now I can see why it was so popular.
This is a stunning record by Clannad - yes the opening robin hood track makes you grin and chuckle because lets face it it sounds proper 80s cheesy if you grew up during that time - but it is good still - the rest of the record sends continual shivers down your spine....I barely remember the tv series - I remember the feel of it- much dictated by this amazing soundtrack - I can remember it was a good twist on the mythology and there was a strong atmospheric quality to it - again much down to the soundtrack as much as the visual direction.........so yes Im now awaiting series one in the post to see how well that tv programme holds up - I remember it was pretty good....but sometimes memories play tricks on you - when you grow up you hear certain things differently - but this record honestly made me tearful, nostalgic, but also I felt surprised by its sheers quality.
Proper celtic inspiration! Texturally fantastic - when The Battle kicks in for its brief roll - oh yes.......quality folk from this great irish sooth singers!
ENjoy

feel it in your guts

No need to go over the details of the original 10 tracks; they're just as awesome as they were back in the mid-eighties when they first appeared. Track 11 is worthy of mention though; it's a heavy upbeat busy sounding chill-out mix of Together We. If you like big sounds, there's little to compare. The bass (extraordinarily low frequency - you'll need a quality system to really get the best out of it) is truly inter-galactic yet firmly controlled and I absolutely love the crisply reverb-ed Kraftwerk (Man Machine) snare drum. Combined with beautifully produced full range percussion, this track takes chill to new levels of deep coolity.

Father of the comedy! (recommended)

Ironically, I saw the original Spencer Tracy version of
FATHER OF THE BRIDE
on television a week before the Steve Martin version came out in the theater. I remember remarking to someone that I saw an absolutely hilarious movie but couldn't remember the name. After the Martin-version trailer played, I exclaimed: "That's it!" Since then I have purchased both versions and watched them numerous times. I also have part-two of the original and the remake. The Martin version is a fresh adaptation of the original. I can't imagine anyone has not already seen this lighthearted comedy about the emotional and financial sacrifices experienced by the father of the bride. I'll save you another read of the plot description and just provide an endorsement for hilarious entertainment.
A number of scenes are priceless. Martin's facial expressions as his daughter is transposed back to gradeschool while telling him she is engaged is a riot. The "talk" with the bridegroom is great. The wedding planner scene is a gem. Not to be overlooked is the comedy of errors involving the sensational meeting of the inlaws. Along with a great supporting cast, this is Steve Martin at his best.
