This is a definite must have for the fan of instrumental rock guitar. It is not Heavy like say, Joe Stump and Andy James. I would classify it more along the lines of the better light to moderate, refined technique and composed recordings from Joe Satriani, Anand Mahangoe, and Andy Timmons. You can tell this was a labor of love especially if the review that claims to be from Tim Simmons is true. I'm not saying it isn't, just saying if it is, then he took great care in perfecting the recordings. Read his review to understand what I mean.

My favorites are #1, #2, #4, #5 (if you dismiss the intro which is fine, but not my cup of tea), #8, and #10. I almost took of a star for #6 - Sheer Genius because it is weird and irritating to me, but I didn't because it is definitely original. I don't play #6 but the others I mentioned make this astounding, and a stellar release, so it would be unfair to take off for that 1 song. #3 and #9 have lyrics and are good and #7 shows a bit of humor with a "talent" contest feel to it. If it only had #1, #4, #8, and #10 it would be worth the standard $10 - $12 price IF you can find it!!!

If you get the opportunity to get this for less than $12 you would do yourself a favor to Get It While the Gettin' Is Good!!! And if you were to give $20 I don't think you'd be disappointed. A truly remarkable, hard to find disc!!!!!!!! In fact, at this moment there is only 1 used disc available here on Amazon and 1 used one listed on eBay. Your move!!!

I knew Tim back when I worked in Midtown Memphis for a jingle company. We would run into him at G & G's, a Mexican place that all of the writers , singers, and musicians called their home away from home due to GREAT FOOD & better MARGARITTAS, LOL.. When my daughter 1st heard the recording, she basically stole it from me. It had a permanent position in my car stereo. At the time , my daughter Lindsey was a little girl, but had great taste in music. She is 35 now & mentioned his name the other day when we were talking about great guitarist . I was surprised that she remembered him. We searched & found a recording online & it brought back GREAT memories for us both!! I still think it's one of the best guitar masterpieces of ALL time!! Two generations of listeners love it, and I am sure more will follow. I was Gina Bethea back then. I go by Gina Sere Moore now. It's been a lifetime ago, and the songs are still as fresh as the day they were recorded! Proud to say I knew Tim Simmons. Not a bad song on the record!

Why, in God's name, is this man not known by everyone in the world? Why is he not making millions of dollars a year? Honestly... I have no idea, because this man is one of the most phenomenal guitar virtuosos I have ever had the pleasure to hear. I've been playing electric guitar for 40 years so I know what a good axe slinger sounds like and trust me, Tim Simmons is world class, top shelf, bar NONE. If you like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Vinnie Moore, or Tony McAlpine, you will LOVE this album!! Also, you will not believe the quality of the recording and the entire production. This is not one you will find in the dollar bin or maybe anywhere 10 years from now. Get it while you can!!!
