This is the 2nd recording I have by Capercaillie, the other is “Secret People” which was such a pleasant surprise it prompted me to purchase this one as well – I have not been disappointed, and I am certain I will add to my collection.

Outstanding musicians, lots of fresh, upbeat-tempo songs, and it’s a shame their music (Scottish Folk, often Gaelic lyrics) doesn’t get the exposure here in the States that it deserves (guess it’s not Justin Bieber…). Scottish Gaelic aside, this is just really great music. Amazon doesn’t offer any sound bites, but I’m sure there’s got to be something available on YouTube or GrooveShark. Expand your musical horizons and give this band a listen!

"Get Out" is a rerelease of an older CD that came out earlier in the 90s. For the most part, it consisted of remixes and live recordings of popular Capercaillie songs that had appeared on other CDs. This new version has all those, plus five bonus tracks of all-new material. The new stuff is good, but it's the main body of the CD that really stands out. The live recordings are absolutely wonderful, capturing the excitement of a pakced concert hall. My favorites are "Coisich a Ruin" and "Pige Ruadh," which are impossible not to dance to. The remixes are also great, particularly "Waiting for the Wheel to Turn" and "Dr. Macphail's Trance" (a more contemporary, techno-sounding version of "Dr. Macphail's Reel"). The five bonus tracks are good but not groundbreaking, although the final track ("Shadbally Castle/Caberfeidh") is definitely one of their better instrumentals. This CD is a must for fans of Capercaillie!

This is not a "Best of" compilation, it's FAR more than that. There are remixes, live recordings, and early out-takes. Worth buying if only for the opening track, the remix of "Waiting For The Wheel to Turn". Get Out is an excellent introduction to Capercaillie (it was for me) WAY better than a "Best Of", as it makes you want to buy more. Make sure you get the 1999 edition rather than the 1992, as there's more on it. I was sent the wrong one to start with, but it was quickly replaced.

I have worn out my cassette tape of Get Out by Cappercaillie. This CD version is a mix of live recordings and outtakes. The last track is an instrumental which I play again and again in the car. I love the atmosphere and the vibes of this track.

I first bought the tape in about 1997 and it's great to play while driving through mountains and the hilly countryside anywhere.

Each song or tune is superbly performed. This cd is not particularly long ( a good thing imho). If you like this wonderful band then this is a good addition to your collection.
