This music cd was full of innovative, as well as amazing beauty. It captures the emotions portrayed in the film, and the viewer. Oldfield was reluctant to accept this assignment due to the nature of the film and his peaceful nature. He wanted to let people feel the horror of war, and was very successful. The music he created was powerful, and very ethereal in nature throughout the piece.

I have remembered the music ever since I saw the movie many years ago. The strong, unique, and sometimes stirring music covers a range from sounding classical, to metalic, to light rock, to ethic. A good niche CD for the music collection.

I have seen this film several times and it is as powerful each time as the last. It is part of history related to the USA that I think would be useful and important for every American. Not for children. Scenes of the killing fields, though brief, can be upsetting.

Mike Oldfield's soundtrack for the very powerful movie of the same title. Oldfield in top form.

Listening to the songs, brings back memories of seeing the movie. This was based on a true story. Great piece by Oldfield the music director.

Mike Oldfields first and really only venture into scoring a movie. It is a beautiful score with very emotionally charged music.

Taking a break from the Europop of Discovery, Mike Oldfield applied his prodigious talents to the score for the Killing Fields. The result is an outstanding mix of orchestrated and synthesised music. Highlights include the magnificent Pran's theme, a heart wrenching melody which reappears throughout. Requiem For A City where Oldfield follows in Mozarts footsteps and the groundbreaking and still shocking Evacuation. It's hard to believe that the genius at work here was the same man who had released the fairly bland Discovery album just before.
For the price this is a must buy the only disapointment is the lack of any new material but the album still sounds wonderful.

I first heard this album back when I was a teenager - my bestie had it on vinyl. I never got round to buying it and pretty much forgot about it. So pleased that i did. I'm now retired and catching up with music.
CD plays well.

Superb retro analogue synth music that still sounds fresh, interesting and futuristic.
Highly recommended to anyone who has an interest in 80s style analogue synth or film music - Mike Oldfield is one of the masters of the genre.
A definite five star highly recommended purchase.
