One of the finest but underrated albums of the Eighties, which was a great decade for music. Many great earworm tunes here, with only a few not-so-good songs towards the end. My only complaint is this was produced in the dawn of the CD age and the sound is rather thin. This really needs a fresh remastering. But 30 years down the line, the music still sounds fresh because the Wets relied much more on soulfulness than on synthesizers, unlike many others of the time. "I Can Give You Everything" in particular, is a great recording. The exuberance on this song and the one about the girl from east of the river are highly contagious. The Eighties was a relatively prosperous and good time: the music reflected it.
