This single compact disc has 17 live tracks from concerts in 2002, some of Sammy Hagar's tunes and some Van Halen tunes. A few of the tracks are okay but the rest is outstanding especially "I Can't Drive 55" which the crowd gets into and Sammy changes the lyrics which will make you smile (don't want to ruin the surprise). The Wabo's are a solid band and if you want live tracks to sound like the album they do deliver. Some songs Sammy sounds better than in a studio which is why I give this such a high rating. He is energetic at concerts and it brings out the best in him. This disc you can listen to on most occasions but some language issues if children are present. Michael Anthony shows up to play a few tracks and there is one track "Rock Candy" from Sammy's days with Montrose. HALLELUJAH will spin and spin and you won't want to take it out of the player if you like rocknroll music and rocknroll attitude.

This is a very well recorded CD of Sammy (Mr. Cabo-Waborita) and his Waborita posse on their 2002 tour. Although the unusual way of some of the songs (which are all good songs by the way) starting without the traditional fading in of audience cheers takes some getting used to, it's a good change of pace for some live album conosseuirs who want something a little different from most of the live albums they have in their collections. Of course this was from 2003; the year before Sammy briefly rejoined Van Halen for their financially successful but emotionally disappointing 2004 reunion tour. Sammy got me hooked on not just his music but Cabo Wabo itself since this album.

Absolutely phenomenal. Sammy's voice was at it's best. The guests were great. The Cherone inclusion was an absolute hoot. Just one of the best live albums I've listened to in a long time. Don't own a Hagar Album? Start your collection here.
The only criticism I'd even entertain would be song selection. Now I loved the songs he chose, but we all have our personal favorites. ANd when you are including everything you've ever done, well, you can't do them all. That's nearly 30 years of material folks!
Hat's off to the Red Rocker. The most underrated, under appreciated heavy metal artist of all time.
It doesn't get any better than this. Critics take off your blinders and shelve your biases and enjoy one hell of a show!

After listening to all the VH live albums, this one is a let down. Sammy does a great job but on several songs, the background or supporting vocals are either off key or just don't fit making you cringe at the sound. When you compare Sammy's songs on the VH live albums, you can hear the difference like night and day. It unfortunately takes you out of the moment and feeling you have with a live event.

There's some great music on this DVD-A. But the mix is inconsistant. Some songs are great surround mixes. Some are OK and some are just awful. I found myself constant tweaking the audio to get the kind of quality I'm used to with DVD-A, as the mix quality actually varies from song to song. It's a shame because the performance itself it great - but the sound engineer should be flogged.

the cost of the album purchase as compared to selecting single songs was definately the driving force behind the purchase, and anyone who loves Sammy the way I do will appreciate the album as well as the ease of download and convenience of the cloud player and availability for all your MP3 players.

Sammy and the Wabos rock through Montrose, Hagar and Van Halen songs and do them better than the original.
