Madame Hillary : The Dark Road to the White House Hardcover – Bargain Price, February 25, 2004

2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars 27 ratings

"No one knows Hillary Clinton the way R. Emmett Tyrrell and Mark Davis know her." "Tyrrell's American Spectator was the magazine of record for breaking stories on the Clinton administration. For eight solid years it was the administration's most formidable journalistic opponent - a persistent (as well as a devastatingly perceptive and witty) obstacle to the Clintons' attempt to hoodwink the public and whitewash their own corruption. Former White House speechwriter and longtime Clinton watcher and chronicler Mark Davis has compiled devastating files of research on Hillary." "With insiders' access to Hillary's Senate colleagues, other key players, and fresh reporting, Tyrrell and Davis examine in detail the strategies Hillary is preparing to achieve her ambition for power, the lies she uses to camouflage her record for the American people, and the damage that Madame President Hillary could inflict upon the nation. Best of all, they know how she can be stopped." Packed with eye-opening facts and incisive insights, Madame Hillary proves conclusively that a Hillary victory would be an unmitigated disaster for America. This book is the much-needed alarm to alert all Americans to the clear and present danger of Madame Hillary.

This book is written for the ignorant and the gullible. From the first page, Clinton is referred to as "a deep-dyed radical" who believes in "the agenda of the radical left." This is truly nuts. She's further left than the authors, that's true, but then everybody except certain Nazis are further left than the authors. In fact, the Clintons moved the Democratic Party AWAY from the left and toward the center.
Mr. Tyrrell Jr., whose rants have appeared many times in The American Spectator (a radical right-wing magazine), makes much of the fact that Ms. Clinton was a fan of Saul Alinsky. That is hardly a surprise; many thousands of educated young people during the sixties (including myself) found Alinsky's views both eye-opening and correct. His concern that the United States was becoming a corporatist state has been born out in spades, and the executives and directors of major corporations are clearly calling the shots in this country. That 70 or 80 percent of Americans want a particular policy counts for nothing if the Koch brothers and a few other billionaires don't want it.
The kind of liberal/progressive views Clinton espoused in those days were shared by a large part of her generation. Indeed, it was such views that helped make the civil rights movement possible and, finally, brought an end to the disastrous Vietnam war. One could say that having such views simply showed you had a heart.
The authors of this book clearly have no heart, and not much of a brain, either. However, if you want examples of slanted language, conclusions without evidence, and general trash-talking, this is the book for you.

R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr., and myself are on the same page regarding Hillary Clinton: we both consider her to be a very dangerous threat to America. The author does not make the mistake of ignoring the nefarious Saul Alinsky in her political development. His cynical amoralism underpins Senator Clinton's own political vision. She is indeed a dedicated, hard-core leftist who may be only slightly to the right of those radicals of the 1960s. She is definitely far more to the left than her husband. Hillary simply knows that her natural ideological inclinations must be hidden from the general public. The woman must fly under the radar if she is to have any chance of being elected president. In other words, Hillary Clinton must be willing to be careless with the truth if it is deemed necessary. Tyrrell, alas, provides ample evidence that the senator is more than willing to even outright lie---and slander anyone who threatens to derail to grab for power. Is the author a Clinton hater? Not in the least. Tyrell is prudent and dispassionately careful. He is very well aware that Clinton's folks will exploit any mistakes, however minor. And no, Madame Hillary is not outdated because it was released some three years ago. It is still relevant and extremely valuable in learning how to derail her plans to replace our Constitution government with a socialist and authoritarian one.

You should also purchase a copy Whitewash: What the Media Won't Tell You About Hillary Clinton, but Conservatives Will. It is imperative that we keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House. These two books will give you the critical ammunition to do your part. Please do not underestimate the damage Senator Clinton will do if given half a chance. Your children's future, if nothing else, depends on your taking her seriously.

tyrells says that hillary is SELF SERVING....HOPELESSLY CORRUPT...guilty of CRONYISM...but her GREATEST FAULT? HER SOCIALISM. tyrell is most def a far right social/fiscal conservative type...he calls hillary a "coat and tie" radical....which means that she will suck up to corporate power....vote conservative on many issues...only to rise into the upper echelons of power. Once she reaches the highest point of power she can...she will then UNLEASH A BARRAGE OF LIBERALISM UPON THE COUNTRY. According to the author...of course.

His evidence of this is her college years...hillary studied the INFAMOUS saul alinsky and wrote her college thesis on him...which she had SEALED from public view. Saul argued that big time corporations are abusive to the people...the environment...and they aren't going to listen if you waltz over and ask for respect. Saul suggested literally INFILTRATING the corporate ranks...rising up and then..once in a position of power...turning the tables. Obviously....this isn't exactly music to the status quos ears....Saul is STILL a controversial figure to this day....

He says she is only biding her time in the senate....her main goal is getting herself to the WORLD STAGE. Since this was written in 2003....and Hillary HAS reached the world stage as secretary of state...has any of this book come true?

MY QUESTION: Is everyone being held to the same standard here? Is it honestly helpful to criticize one person....instead of the entire system?

It is rare that you come across a political book that reads like a first-rate novel. Madame Hillary is an amazing blend of good journalism and historical analysis. It reveals the extent to which the Democratic Party has been taken over, lock, stock and barrel, by the Clintons and their allies. It delves into the machinations of the Clintons, showing how they are struggling to remain dominant (and sometimes, just revelevant) as John Kerry and other Democrats temporarily sieze the limelight. This book has some nice literary touches. It is also rooted in a deep understanding of American politics. I hope this book someday serves as a touchstone for future historians struggling to understand the hidden story of our times.
