Please Mr. Gore do a Follow Up to An Inconvenient Truth..Please..Now that everything you said in this movie is Happening! I bought this for my Entire Family. Sadly things were ignored by Denial for 8+ years here & I have been watching step by step everything you said would happen with Global Warming, Floods, Weathers Patterns Changing. EVERYTHING U SAID is Coming TRUE! They are calling for a May Fire Season where I live in Oregon. I Knew it would happen, but it is Happening So Fast. I live in OR. Snow whats that? Have not seen any real snow in a Decade Except twice..Fire & Ice is our new Norm. It is April & they are calling for a May Fire Season where I live in Oregon. Should be in JULY! You did this Amazing movie so well a Child could Understand it, maybe People who are wondering what is Happening will watch this now & Understand the Effects of Global Warming..Please do a Follow Up to whats taken place sense you did your ICT MOVIE.. Please it woke me Up! Sincerely not in Denial not an Alarmist. Just can look outside my window & use Common Sense. Seller 10 Stars from me!

Someday, those who survive might just-vaguely-look back and remember this intelligent man who tried to make a difference (above and beyond his political ego) through release/publication of this fascinating documentary. What is shown is the truth. How people accepted it...well, that's another story entirely. It rather reminded me of some things folks I knew/know who went through/are going through AA told me...Accepting responsibility for an action is the first step towards solving the problem. This will never happen in present day society! But the DVD is still worth watching...and weeping through! Note: it is not Al Gore's fault the problems exist. Nor is it the fault of corporations trying to make a profit for the devastation of what is being done. So I leave it to the rest of you as to what I am directly saying.

I saw this in the theatre when it first came out and I am glad I watched it again 8 years later, because all the information continues to be extremely right on and relevant, and I also appreciated the insights into Al Gore. Clearly this was kind of a two-fold film--one for Gore to present urgent information about our climate crisis and how it will affect humankind, and two as a means of personal vindication for his stunningly baffling defeat for President. I won't go into the political/social ramifications on that score, but it is clear from watching the film that Gore wanted to inform the public of just what a great opportunity they missed by not having him as President. However, perhaps his purpose in life was not to lead the country politically but to lead us in other ways. The striking thing that stands out in 2014 is that the time frame Gore presents for climate changes is MUCH FASTER and SOONER than everyone is telling us now. I think we are being sold a bill of goods and we ought to go back and watch this film again NOW. Changes are happening at a greater speed than the news reports.

I wasn't really sure what I was getting into when I first hit the play button. Was this going to be like a Michael Moore film? Would it be as boring as most monotone lectures are? And, will it satisfy MY demands for evidence? When the DVD arrived from amazon, I was taken aback by the packaging. Which is nothing like what the image on amazon represents itself to be, as its not the typical plastic DVD case with a cardboard box slip cover. The package could best be described as a greeting card with a slot for the CD. Don't let this discourage you, the case is made from 100% recycled material and is really small and light weight.

The movie opens with a beautiful and serene nature scene which has a strong relaxing effect. Gore puts forward a convincing argument, and lays out the scientific evidence in such a way that the truth is inescapable. Using iWork Keynote, Gore built a beautiful keynote which helps the data come alive. At no time was I bored during this 1.5 hour movie, not once. In fact the ending came upon me suddenly. There can be no question about it, no doubt remaining to the question of Global Warming, once this presentation is viewed.

When I was in grade school (I'm 27 at the time of this writing), I was taught that Global Warming was a threat, but that it was a threat posed to successive generations. A lot has changed since the late 80's early 90's. With the new scientific data propagating from all over the globe, it's conceivable the next generation will have severe difficulty surviving on this planet if we don't change NOW. The evidence presented by Gore is as irrefutable as the Holocaust and even more foretelling.

I watched this film for school and I was surprised that so many years later we are still faced with the same and worsening issues. Finding alternative solutions to fossil fuels and reducing greenhouse gas emissions is incredibly important for the survival of our species. Global warming is the most important golobal environmental issue. People from all over the world should be educated on the science behind global climate change and make a choice to reduce the actions contributing to global warming.
