As a huge fan of John Williams I look forward more to the score than the actual movie and like with the recent STAR WARS episode releases the music is the highlight of the film for me. It's fun to hear the themes new and old and the mixtures of the two. John Williams never disappoints.
This soundtrack has notable tracks and some that are performed in concerts with JW at the podium himself or conductors of local symphonies. The "Raiders March" is classic although typically composed slightly different. I like this heavier bass strings in this version. "The Adventures of Mutt" is a track often performed in concerts. The "Journey to Akatar" is another great track. The Crystal Skull theme is interesting and or course the "Finale" encompassing all themes with a slightly different and favorite ending. John always comes up with a different composition for his classic themes that keep them fresh yet familiar. Like all John Williams tracks, this is another great addition in the collection.

I have been in love with movies and their scores and soundtracks since I was very small. I remember vividly sitting on my dads lap at the age of 5 watching this handsome man stand there with a staff and the music swelling in the background. I have been in love ever since with these movies. Can you imagine what the movie would have been like without the genious of John Williams? I have been an avid collector of soundtracks and scores my entire life. I am also a movie fanantic and it is because I was born into a wonderful time for STAR WARS and INDIANA JONES. Yes there are hints of music that have been intertwined in with this new and wonderful movie, I found them to be important and welcomed just as much as this new chapter in a wonderful adventure. I still get goosebumps when listening to all of John Williams work, and believe me, I have enjoyed them for many many years. I love everything about this.

John Williams rarely strikes out, and he has definitely not in this latest composition from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
The Indiana Jones theme is what everyone remembers. I would rank it as one of the best motion picture themes. The rest of the soundtrack is very good. There is nostalgia woven throughout this soundtrack. Marion's theme is back and is found in several of the tracks, whether it be a a few seconds or not. Some of the Last Crusade music makes a return as well, at very appropriate times in the movie. I think it's an indication of how well the composition is by how well you are moved by the music and this made me recall all of the fond memories of Indiana Jones moments. There are some rather different themes at play but very much in tune with the theme of the film.
Until the other 3 soundtracks get re-released, this is your best chance to have the Indy theme.

For any Indiana Jones fans, the last made in the series, comes in with a bang thanks to John Williams creating his magic again. Highly recommend- the soundtrack to relive the great adventures with Indiana Jones, his son and Marion.

With arguably one of moviedoms finest anthems in "The Raiders March" to build off of, John Williams once again shows why he is probably the finest movie theme composers of all time.
For all time Indy fans, it is wonderful to hear little snippets of previous Indy films worked into this score, as well as new and exciting original pieces to further the legend of Indiana Jones.

I keep my review simple... but before I give my thoughts I would like to let you know that I am a filmmusic fan for almost 20 years and have hundreds (around 500) of (good) scores. From the Golden Age till recently. So I guess I do have some insight what is good filmmusic and what isn't...
I would say that this William's effort is less spirited and energetic than, lets say Temple of Doom. Although it is pretty good in some parts, overall its somewhat disappointing. I would give this score a 7 out of 10. If there will be ever a complete score release than it will be an solid 8 or 8.5. Sadly many nice cues (silo 51, complete Jungle chase and many more) are not here on this cd. Still, its a nice score (especially tracks like "the Departure"), but it isn't a "goosebump" score.
Hopefully George Lucas will release the complete scores for Temple of Doom and the Last Crusade. Especially Temple of Doom is one heck of a ride!
