I think Jamie Foxx is incredibly talented and I was not disappointed with his cd. The first half of the album is more a radio sound. if you like blame it, and just like me, then you will most likely enjoy 5 out of the first 6 songs. I think it's really cool how he switches up, he is at times almost a copy cat, and that's not a bad thing in my eyes. he has his own sounds, but there is one song that he sounds like al green, then one he sounds like a singing lil' wayne with r.kelly influence. in the second half of the album, it seems like he relaxes a little bit and gets out of the club. there is a song in which he has an awesome husky voice reminiscent of anthony hamilton. i appreciate this because with my short attention span and the use of the shuffle feature on our mp3 players, it's hard to stay on one album for long. this album, though, stayed in my car for longer than a day. :-)

I use this song as an example of unhealthy relationships in classes because it clearly outlines a common kind of date rape. The lyrics are disgusting if you actually pay attention to them. However, I think this song will gain popularity from people dancing to the beat and not having a clue what is being suggested. Even so, I personally think it is a pretty crappy sound overall too. Very disappointed because I expected much more of Jamie Foxx. I know he is talented, but this song doesn't showcase it, in my opinion.

"Blame It" is the latest musical venture of Jamie Foxx. Foxx is an accomplished actor, from starring as the iconic Ray Charles to being the good guy opposite the evil Tom Cruise in "Collateral", and he's trying his hand at music. "Blame it" has a pretentious music video with Jake Gyllenhaal (and Arrested Development's narrator, Ron Howard) What's worse than the video? The song itself! "Blame it" has a good rhythm--and that's it. Foxx's voice is set on auto-tune. He sounds like a computer--the latest Skynet singing sensation. Foxx needs a better script!

Dude has really proven that he has mad talent. I am proud of Jamie. The guy made my ribs HURT in In living Color. Then he went on to do his own TV show. Then he did an album. Then another. Then he just blew up! I am happy for him and he is down to earth. Anyone seen American Idol how he was being REAL with the contestants?
Soooooo any critics out there think of it this way. Suffer, save and go after your dreams.

The beat and tone are good. But the song itself is funny as hell.

"You don't even care now, I was unaware How fine you was before My buzz set in, my buzz set in..."

Like I said. Funny as hell.

When thinking back, I feel like this was really the breakthrough track for Jamie Foxx in the singing arena. He's done well in movies where he's done a lot of singing, but in the pop music arena this is where it started!
