Basically the first episode on this boxset is split into 2 parts(Around 12 minutes each). Basically this covers Rachel coming to Japan for the first time and joining Juda. With Reiji and Yamashita at the airport waiting for her, she never appears. She is infact in some other location in Japan, completely lost.
This is more comic relief than anything as Rachel(The brilliant scientist for Juda) gets into some random, yet ridiculus situations. Like getting angry when a local selling food doesn't take credit cards for example. And her trying to use said credit card in a vending machine and getting angry.
Next part really lets the episode down. It's kinda creepy. Basically Rachel along with some Juda droids randomly sneek into peoples rooms to film them. And needless to say there are some really creepy/voyeur moments such as a droid using a girls toothbrush and raking through her panties? Seriously.
Redeemed somewhat by the final episode. This is more fanservice than anything else. Set after the final episode of the 2nd Season all the Juda personel are at peace somewhat. The Corperation is a beach resort. Giving the excuse to put the cast in revealing swimsuits. However Shadow Linebarrels are attacking and the cast must spring into action one last time.
Overall this OVA is pretty bad. I have never seen a more pointless excuse for fanservice in my life.
Good dub. Decent artwork. Just.. really creepy at times. It's not a bad collection just it really needed to be in with the Season 2 collection in my opinion to be worth $15.
In the 2nd episode, Juda headquarters has been turned into a resort/spa. All the members of the team work there and remain on standby in case some trouble pops up. This episode was mainly focused on the fanservice aspect. For a while I thought that Kouichi and Emi would finally confess, get it on, or something like that. They didn't. Instead, Linebarrel clones appeared and started attacking. As you can probably guess, our heroes put them down. I enjoyed this short OVA, but I really think that they should have just added it on the end of season 2.
First of all, when you open the DVD case & take the disc out, you will be greeted by the inside cover artwork showning through the clear case. No surprise there, except that in this case the artwork is of the female characters naked. Not really what I had been expecting to see. I suppose it would have been ok if I was a dude, but I'm not. Sooo... anyway...
This OVA consists of two episodes. Episode one (Pretty Girl Genius Scientist Rachel) consists of two parts. Part one is basically what happens to Rachel when she comes to Japan & of the utterly ridiculous situations she gets herself into. It was ok. The creators succeeded in making Rachel look less than genius.
Part two, well, all I have to say about that is: YIKES!!! Where did that come from?! Rachel & a bunch of JUDA Droids, with a video camera in tow, spy on their fellow JUDA members, go through their belongings & basically catch them in pretty embarassing situations. It in no way fits in with any part of the series & I'm thinking the creators for this episode were either drunk, high or both. I say that only because I think the only way anyone would find this part remotely funny was if they were in the aforementioned state. I felt like a creeper when I watched this part of the episode. Heck, I think a creeper would even be uncomfortable watching that! It's so embarrassingly bad, I even felt embarrassed for the characters & they aren't even real people!!!
Episode two (Shadows of Iron) was also just ok, but it's decidedly better that the first episode. It is also the reason I gave this OVA two stars instead of one. The JUDA corporation has been turned into a resort area & the JUDA members are now employees of the resort doing various odd jobs in their swimsuits. Needless to say there is lots of fanservice. Of course they still have their machina for just in case & it comes in handy for that final battle.
Overall, I think fans of the series will be seriously disappointed. I know I was. This OVA is really bad, & as a fan of the series I really can't recommend watching this. Save your money or buy something else, you won't regret it.
