- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2013Gave these as gifts along with the reproduction mason jars and wire hanging/carrying baskets from another store and they looked great. Work great and even use them by charging them the day before a storm and using them as a light. Enough light to light the room, like a night light but not too bright to leave on the picnic table outside that you do not want to blind you. Accent lighting and decor....love them. Shipped really fast also.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2013These are incrediable! I bought a colored jar then duplicated the process...added this solor light to it and it's absolutly beautiful.
How to color the jars:
Any mason jar, regular size top (not big mouth tops).
Mod Podge glue (amazon or I found mine at Walmart).
Food coloring
Those flat clear marble type "gems" (walmart).
Mix food coloring with the mod podge glue (thinner than elmers glue) to desired shade. It will appear "pastel" in color but it will dry clear.
Pour mixed color/glue into mason jar and roll around till coated.
pour out excess colored glue and keep jar upside down till it's dry. It'll be clear when it's done.
Put the clear (or colored) glass "marble" type gems in the bottom.
Can charge the solor lid while the glue is drying.
Put cover on colored and weighed down jar and enjoy! This will make excellent yet inexpensive gifts.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2013I bought these in March and didn't try them out until it was too late to return them. I love the ones that work, but I bought seven and three of them don't charge. I've switched the batteries around and it is not the batteries, but the units themselves. I'd give 5 stars if I could get replacements for the three that don't work. Update: As promised, I said I'd change this to 5 stars if I could get replacements. The company did send replacements and I am enjoying the beautiful light.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2013The lights usually don't work. When I received them, they were "ON", so I guess this means they had some charge in the batteries. They worked for a few days. The sun was out some of that time. But it seems that if the sun isn't extremely bright for a very long time, they don't charge up. I'm very disappointed but I have been disappointed with any solar lights that I've used in the last few years. I have a solar light that is very old; I have never changed its batteries and it works very often. But any that I've purchased anywhere in the last few years are worthless. I don't know why I keep trying.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2013I bought this for my husband for one of his Fathers day gifts. It puts out a good amount of light from the little LED bulb. It will work great as a lantern for camping or if the power goes out. We use it now in our room at night and just charge it during the day in our window. Definitely would recommend it!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2015I bought 6 of these and I made hangers for them to hang on shepherd hooks. They looked and worked great for one summer. I thought it was the batteries so I purchase nicad rechargeable batteries, another expense on top of the six lids, but they still didn't work. They looked so nice, but I was very disappointed that that they only worked for about 5 months.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2013This is a very nice solar lid light. All you do is remove the plastic tab from the battery, put it in the sun and wait for the magic to happen! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because one of the batteries wouldn't hold charge and I had to purchase a new one.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2023I bought one of these in a similar style in 2018 and it still works perfectly! I added this one to the collection and it hasn't disappointed!
