4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 243 ratings

So it is that the first book we know of to implicate fungus as the cause of debilitation and death has been completed. There is nothing more convincing than observing life-threatening diseases frequently respond favorably to simple antifungal therapy.

I totally agree with what I have learned from Doug Kaufman and his television program. I believe the more we educate ourselves, and our doctors, the more they will be able to help other patients who are ill. This book is the perfect 'gift' for those we care about who are suffering from a number of 'symptoms' and ailments the doctors 'just can't quite figure out'. it is also excellent for anyone who may be ill and wanting to improve their health.. and their immune system~

This has been a lifetime journey which started decades ago with Atkins and led ultimately to AIP (autoimmune protocol), keto, and both IV and HOCATT ozone treatments, all of which have worked to some degree. This three volume series explains everything (for me), like why when I did an initial elimination diet I threw mushrooms out, and why even the functional medicine doctor's suggestion for cordyceps was an immediate no. But the results of all of those efforts were haphazard until this book. It first started with a usual HOCATT treatment but switching from PEMF lymph drainage to fungus (general), and holy cow I Herxed. Then I started taking anti fungal supplements and transitioning from long-time AIP to still AIP but with an anti fungal focus. For the first four days I couldn't get off the couch, the die-off was really bad. That's how I knew this is Finally getting to the root cause. It appears it could take anywhere from 2 weeks to a year to rid the body of active fungus and mycotoxins depending on severity, and so far this seems correct. And that's assuming you don't screw up along the way (easy to do - was the cow you ate fed with moldy grains? I can feel it). Every day something different happens which seems to indicate the body is slowly addressing layer after layer of fungal damage, both physically and mentally. If this review sounds discombobulated, you have a window into what detoxing is like.

great book! tons of good info on fungus/candida infection that I've been fighting for YEARS now! I'm excited to implement the steps Doug lays out in this book. I watch his show on TV "Know the Cause". I'd highly recommend this book, and it was delivered quickly.

First off I want to say that Candida-related health problems are REAL. I'm living proof. Everytime I cheat on my diet, I suffer the repercussions. About the book-- it's like a collection of articles written by Kaufmann and other people. At the end of the book he gives a pretty good list of things you should and should not eat. Compared to other Candida diets I've seen and followed, this one is actually pretty lenient.

There are two major things I don't like about this book. 1. The book is too small for the price. When you look at the pages, the paragraphs are practically double spaced, not to mention there is a one inch margin on the top, bottom and sides. It almost reminds me of college when I had to write a paper, I'd do whatever I could to make the paper look longer, so there was be less substance. This is a bit of a rip off and from reading about Kauffman's other books, he almost always does that. He criticizes other doctors and professionals saying they cheat the public, but so does he. I'm not mad at him for making money, good for him, but give your readers what they are paying for, don't cheat us.

2. There's a lot of, "I believe...", "It's my opinion that..." in this book and if you're writing a book as a doctor you should state FACTS, not your opinion.

Overall, it's a good book. If you can't afford it, just go to [...], it has helped me tremendously. There's also a forum for Candida suffers to communicate with each other, etc. It also has a lot more information on anti fungals, pro biotics, and how to handle die off.

Good luck.

Received this book on time. It is in okay condition. It has ALOT of writing through out the book...ALOT. However, it hasn't hindered my reading it. The outside cover is in excellent condition. I am still reading this book. BUT I do believe that fungus attributes to MANY MANY deceases. And as I read this the more it sells me on doing a fungus cleanse and eating fungus free. We atch Doug Kaufmans program every morning, this just gives alot of additional information

If you haven't read this book, you are cheating yourself of optimum health. It changed my life. I learned about it by watching Know the Cause. By reading the book and following the Phase One lifestyle, numerous health problems have cleared up that doctors were unable to help me with. Medical schools focus on bacteria and viruses but give very little attention to fungus. This is unfortunate since it is an extremely widespread problem.
