Like the show, very interesting and shows a totally different way of law enforcement than what anyone else in america thinks. But this dvd set is awful because theres no episode selection guide. Each episode just plays one after the other. I've never bought a tv show on dvd or blu ray that didn't have an episode guide i mean what gives?

Every episode is real life...this program is not scripted and played out in a
studio somewhere. THIS IS REAL LIFE, AND THE PROBLEMS THEY FACE
ARE REALLY HAPPENING AS THE CAMERA IS ROLLING.

In the most severe of weather, these troopers are out there keeping the peace...
putting their lives on the line to keep the general public safe in their homes and
on the roads and even in the air...

the Alaska State Troopers are the best...

As is true of all the trooper DVDs, one can learn the tremendous training of the troopers and their commitment to keeping up to date. These brave men and women function in many roles protecting the safety of the people and ensuring that they follow laws regarding the many wild animals during hunting and fishing seasons. They often risk their own lives to protect the people and preserve the immense beauty of Alaska. They display many talents such as flying airplanes when there is no other way to reach the many small remote villages and to use whatever means necessary to provide safety. They also work in terrible weather conditions and travel on roads covered in ice. I have developed a love of Alaska because of the programs
If my health permits, I dream of some day seeing the most beautiful scenery anywhere in the US.
My only comment for improvement would be that I did not like the set-up of the discs of season3. There were no titles of the episodes on the discs as were in the other 2 seasons. Another thought I have for all 3 is that some of the night time scenes are too dark to see what is happening. Also, being an elderly retiree, i would have enjoyed less of the wild parties of the young people. I don't condemn their wish to celebrate, but one episode of the parties is enough to give the viewer the idea! Therefore, one party for all 3 of the seasons is enough. I get angry when these drunk people are rude to the troopers, who manage to respond professionally. Alaska needs more troopers. In some situations more than on trooper is not enough.

Firstly I love this series, I own Season Two, and was more than excited when I received Season Three. However my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. First, as stated by previous reviewers, there is no episode selection menu, not even a guide that says what episodes are on what disk. So enjoy skipping thru trying to find your favourite episode. Secondly I have also experienced issues with scratched disks, which cause skips in certain episodes. As well, the last disk will not play on my laptop but will in a DVD player. Thinking this may have been an oversight, I had my DVD set replaced. Only to have the same issues arise with my replacement.

I've decided that since I love this series so much, i'm willing to put with these issues since only a few episodes are affected. Since Amazon has nothing to do with the disk production, this is really an issue for National Geographic to fix. Hopefully these comments are forward on so that they can be fixed before Season Four is released.

My seventeen year old daughter not only loves the bravery and devotion that these men have but also their looks. She is absolutely in love with Officer Garcia and Peterson. *sigh* teenage girls..but in terms of the show it is highly entertaining and exciting, I love watching it in my free time with my kids, even my 12 year old son loves it and although at times there might be a dead animal shown or something like that, I do think it's appropriate for older kids and teaches honor and bravery!

This is a good show, but it gets a little boring after a few episodes. In spite of my opinion, these men and women have to cover so much ground it would seem an impossible task to undertake. I applaud them for their rather large set of cojones. I think they're either crazy or they love it. Nonetheless, I applaud these Alaska State troopers for their hard work. They don't act like a bunch of idiots on a power trip like the insolent and disrespectful Georgia Troopers.

This is one that delivers the best of both. Some of the NATGEO scenery is incredible. Life is hard in the frozen frontier, but the wildlife and natural beauty make it all worth while. Seeing the random criminal brought to justice is icing on the cake.

Love this show! Alaska State Troopers takes you into the real Alaska with all it's highs and lows. Get off the cruise ship and travel tours and into what makes Alaska the last frontier full of interesting characters, the wilds of Alaska (including the animals) and the men and women who protect it all. With a run time of around 1 hour the stories aren't rushed which really allows the viewer the chance to feel like they've seen the whole story. So if you like Alaska, real life police stories/programs or just a good walk on the wild side from your couch give this one a try.
