In the realm of Lifetime network's "ripped from the headlines" genre of movie making, let's just say that most leave a lot to be desired. The results are mostly sensationalized suppositions put together for entertainment purposes as opposed to a serious contemplation of real life events. But as long as you know that's what you're getting, some definitely fare better than others. "Drew Peterson: Untouchable" is one of their efforts that might actually surpass your expectations. Rob Lowe steps into Peterson's shoes and attempts valiantly to recreate his brashness and bravado. While his performance can border on the maniacal, this over-the-top caricature of evil may lack subtlety but it is eminently watchable. Despite the actual case being unresolved, the movie pulls no punches in its assertion about what happened. But again, it is a fictionalized account and not a literal retelling of the crimes (and alleged crimes) represented.

The movie introduces a Drew Peterson that is outwardly charming, but riddled with jealousy and pettiness. The story picks up as Peterson's third marriage to Kathleen Savio (Cara Buono) is near its end. He meets another young woman (Kaley Cuoco plays bride number four Stacy), and starts his fatherly seduction. Stacy and Drew have a fairy tale romance, even as Savio warns her of Peterson's unpredictable volatility. Convinced that Savio is the one that is skewed, Stacy becomes a stepmother to Peterson's kids and settles in before she starts to see signs of Peterson's controlling nature. One "accidental" drowning and an infamous missing person case later, and Drew Peterson has become a media sensation. While much conjecture is inherent in this story (Stacy is still considered a missing person), the movie does a great job handling the aftermath of the events.

I loved the movie, mostly because all life time movies are the same.although when a movie based on a true story is released..it always catches my attention more..I loved this movie because it stayed close to the case...could they have maybe added more about him and his first wife sure..but you gotta remember..they can't do to much seeing how it could incriminate the real Drew Peterson..So it still had to be a little mystery to it...Honestly..if you wanna watch it..Rent it..if you a true Fan of true story's.and all that then buy it..it is good enough to watch more then once..This is probably the first one ive seen in a long time that was true and it stuck 100% to the case and with a great actor playing the real life person..

Rob Lowe is the last person you'd think of to play Drew Peterson, but he does an amazing job. In fact, he was even more creepier than the real Drew! This movie is based on the book "Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sgt. Drew Peterson" by Joe Hosey, but don't expect this film to be accurate. If you haven't been following the Drew Peterson saga, don't look to this film to fill you in. Anyway, great movie, most of the cast did well - the woman who played Stacey Peterson came off as very annoying to me....

I REALLY LOVED THIS MOVIE VERY MUCH. I AM INTO HISTORICAL MOVIES A LOT. I LIKE ROB ROWE AS AN ACTOR. I AM AMAZED HOW THE POLICE DEPARTMENT DID NOT SEE WHAT TYPE OF OFFICER HE WAS TO LET IT GET OUT OF HAND.

A really solid, believable performance by Rob Lowe...very against type more than any film I've seen him do. Lowe wouldn't have been on my casting list NOT because he isn't a good actor just I never saw him do a role as this, which elevates him to a GREAT actor! He plays 10-15 years older than himself with such cocky arrogance Peterson himself must have been flattered and proud to have a name such as Lowe's portray him! The movie itself doesn't live up to Lowe's performance. I wish it started from THE BEGINNING of the story but starts more 2/3rds into the story. You end up feeling like you missed an hour of the movie or something. The Lacey Petersen movie with Dean Cain was much better done.

Still worth the buy, just hang loose 3-4 months and pick it up for $2.00 + shipping.

Rob Lowe did an excellent job in portraying the notorious Drew Peterson. The movie gave an inside look at this decorated police officer who, by all accounts, was a misogynistic moron who treated women like possessions. It also shed light on a very serious issue regarding the police departments. Very frightening to observe how officers will protect their own at any cost, and many who are sworn to "protect and serve" do not honor that commitment if it jeopardizes a fellow officer. Had they done their job in the first place, those two women would still be alive today.

A very good movie that held my interest at a very reasonable price.

I used to live fairly near to Drew Peterson in the Chicago area, so, I already had the scoop on what he did. But watching this movie was good and showed a very fair side of this Monster Killer . He was about as cocky as they come being a Police Leader , and Im glad Justice caught up with his butt. HIGHLY recommend getting it. Used, if you can to save money.

This was an excellent docudrama about the sociopathic wife murdering police officer. I saw his live interview when he was living with his last girlfriend even as they were looking at him for the murder of wives 3 and 4. She's lucky she moved out before the movie became 'Drew Petersen: The Saga Continues'. I highly recommend this movie!
