RETURN TO THE GARDEN (CHRONICLES OF ELEANOR Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 17 ratings

RETURN TO THE GARDEN is the first novel in a series called "The Eleanor Chronicles" that Norie Huddle is writing to introduce almost 45 years of her research and thinking about practical ways to transform human civilization so that we may survive and thrive.

Luis Alvarez, a young Ecuadorian man, meets an older North American woman named simply "Eleanor" on a long bus ride in Ecuador. They have a realistic but very surprising conversation that transforms Luis' entire worldview.

Eleanor's stories and examples make it clear to Luis (and to the reader) that it is both imperative and possible to transform global civilization very rapidly and that we can make the process of transformation enjoyable and beautiful.

Although the story of Luis' encounter with Eleanor is fictitious (and Luis and Eleanor are fictitious), all the stories contained in the novel are based on true life stories (mostly on Norie's life experience) and real events that have taken place in the world.

RETURN TO THE GARDEN sets the foundation for THE ELEANOR CHRONICLES series, in which each novel will focus on how to transform major systems (monetary, health, education, etc.)

In her novel, Norie also tells for the first time the true story of how she came to research and write her book, BUTTERFLY, that has become an important new "meme" for humanity—a story told by many well-known people today—Deepak Chopra, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Elisabet Sahtouris, Lynne Twist and others.

RETURN TO THE GARDEN will appeal to a wide readership and wide age group and offers realistic hope - and specific suggestions for action - to those concerned about humanity's future.

For me Return To The Garden deals with what is real and what is most important in life. In reading this book, I don't find buzz words or pre-canned expressions. There's a freshness, a spontaneity and a realness in the writing and in the ideas that I find inspiring and empowering. The author also gives specific exercises for how to connect with the universe, with the infinite. But this is done in a natural way. I didn't feel imposed upon. The writing flows from a deep place from the author's life experiences. And, very importantly, it's a vivid and enjoyable read.

The story Norie tells about transformation, using the metaphor of how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly is for me a new and beautiful way of understanding what goes on in the world. Her telling of this metamorphosis gives me a gut-level vision that I can really feel and act upon. I came away from my reading of this book with a clearer insight into how we human beings can do this great thing of transforming ourselves, too. This book has led me to feeling more hopeful and has given me some powerful conceptual tools.

Have you ever thought what a mess the world is, and if only you could do something to make a difference?

Or "Why am I living?", "What is my purpose?", "if only we could all do something together"?

If your answer to any of these is YES, then treat yourself to this ebook and join Luis on Eleanor's overnight bus ride in Ecuador.

Nori's writing is clear, easy and simple, while conveying the most powerful thoughts. It's a delight to read, and leaves you feeling so clear and positive. All around the world, as people read this book, their wings will beat as one as a small family of butterflies turns into a tribe, and then into a global community.

"Return to the Garden" is one of those books you don't want to miss. Extremely timely, the book speaks of a way of seeing the good in the changes that are taking place all around us. It points to the many opportunities for positive change given us in these turbulent times. If you are struggling with all the bad news you are hearing in the media and don't see how we as a species are going to survive, reading this book will give you hope. I'm anxiously looking forward to the next installment from Eleanore.

This easy to read, but profoundly inspiring book is a treasure. Every adult, every student everyone interested in a beautiful, peaceful and loving world needs to read what they already know in their heart! If we participate together in the grand transformation, everyone and everything benefits - so why not? This is a kind of 'seed crystal' or manual to keep near our hearts and minds. I cannot highly enough recommend this book!

The imaginal cells in Norie Huddle's "Return to the Garden" are like Bruce Lipton's cell walls that he explains are all talking to each other giving their status of the body environment from their perspective within the body community. The immune system of humanity gets weaker and weaker as people get debilitated by the pollutants consumed by society and the sick immune system can't kill off all the imaginal cells any longer. Through the gathering up of imaginal cells, society is gaining strength as community. The revelation comes when all these imaginal cells congregate together and realize they are creating something very different from the caterpillar. This is the shout of birth. The new form of the butterfly is clearer and becoming more clear. All these cells of humanity are working together to create global community. Yes we can transform the world very rapidly through our combined efforts. Everyone is to participate in this design. Thank you Norie for a great vision clamoring to be seen.

This story showed me how people of wisdom and vision are gradually working toward a more compassionate world for everyone. It's a breath of fresh air in these times when so many novels and films are dark in tone and offer no insight or light at the end of the tunnel.

All our problems solved in one thin volume!

Come to find out, all we need is a little magical thinking, faith in the Christian God, and viola, all is well. I really like the fact that the book is written much like the old Carlos Castaneda/Don Carlos books. The author will make a fortune fleecing anyone that is a little desperate and very gullible.

I haven't had such a good laugh in many days.
