The thing that you need to remember when you watch this is that it's not meant to be action packed or unexpected exactly. When you live in the middle of nowhere, people tend to do unexpected things to keep occupied. And sometimes the stuff that gets done leads to deadly consequences. This movie brings to light something that kids across the country are doing. I had no idea it existed until a little while ago. In this movie the parents are completely unaware of what happened and are instead embroiled in their own problems, saying some things and leaving facts out of the conversation. Until the end. Kids are doing things that they don't know is wrong because they never get told "what to do if..." It is a little slow, but I think that it's intentionally so. You are supposed to slow down and think when you watch this. And morbidity aside, it is an excellent film. That's my perspective.

Very good story and great acting by Scott Glenn. Good sound and editing. A bit slow but Magic Valley was the first feature film by this director. I believe Jaffe Zinn also did the script for this film and the budget was miminal. Story should be seen by teen agers to view the danger that can be realized by the "choking game" which I understand is quite common in teen agers.

The 'choking' concept was great. The story just wasn't executed well. There were scenes that didn't make much sense to the story. They story should have been told linearly, in my opinion, with more focus on the main story and less on the b stories.

Scott Glenn is always good.

Elicits a powerful dichotomy of emotions - every scene is artistic and beautiful while the film portrays a shocking and disturbing reality. A fictitious tale yet it achieves an accurate and believable portrayal of life in rural, small town of Buel, Idaho.

What a depressing, poorly filmed, poorly acted and directed film. Quality at all levels was worse than a home-movie shock-factor done by strung-out kids who don't understand drama, timing, plot, tension, or even the basics of how to tell a story.

Definitely not one of my fav movies, I personally think it was a waste of money renting this movie. But at least I didn't buy it on a whim and decided to rent it first to see if I would like it.

It was ok. A little slow paced, but it was different, which is hard to say about movies today.
