I bought these plates as a Christmas present for my ten year old son. They are gorgeous! There was one small, dime sized rough patch (two pictures) on the back of Mercury. The plates are packed with a small circular sheet of paper between each plate. I advise to double check the quality if you purchase.

We all love eating off these planet plates. I happen to like melamine. I guess nostalgic from my childhood. The reviews that state they seem flimsy and thin must not know what melamine is. Disappointed that there is no Pluto and it is not sold separately anywhere I could find.

These plates look super cool, but the quality is poor. Several of the plates came with bubbles in the finish and/or scratches, so I'm guessing they won't hold up very well to regular use. Way overpriced for the quality; I expected plates in this price range to show up without significant defects. Cheapo melamine plates from Target that we have used for the last year don't have the blemishes that these do straight out of the box.

Wow. Nice sturdy and colorful and educational too. I thought I was buying these for the kids but I really do like them too. The names of the planets are even conveniently lightly etched on the back of the plates. I traced the titles with indelible fine tip markers.
