Tragedy and Hope 101: The Illusion of Justice, Freedom, and Democracy Kindle Edition
Based on the groundbreaking research of respected historian Carroll Quigley, Tragedy and Hope 101 reveals an unimaginably devious political system, skillfully manipulated by a handful of elite, which is undermining freedom and democracy as we know it. The goal of those who control the system, in Quigley's own words, is to dominate "all habitable portions of the world." Using deception, theft, and violence, they have achieved more toward this goal than any rulers in human history.
However, the Information Age is quickly derailing their plans. The immorality of their system, and those who serve it, has become nearly impossible to hide. Awareness and resistance are growing...Tragedy is yielding to hope.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2015For at least 25 years or so, I had the nagging feeling that there was more going on than was superficially evident in our political system and the world. Being busy with day to day life, who has time to even contemplate such things let alone look for information, and where would you look anyway?
After I retired a few years back I had time to nose around the internet and piece together whatever I could that rang true, There are a lot of crackpot theories out there to wade through but rest assured, the information in this book, while it may be shocking to some, WILL ring true when applied to the world we think we know.
This book confirmed much of what I had managed to figure out on my own and added much more depth and specifics. Plummer draws heavily on Carroll Quigley's 1300 page book Tragedy and Hope, some other sources, and makes his own contributions as well, over and above boiling down the massive original. Around 200 pages, written in plain language so even a high school graduate like me doesn't get too bogged down. It's a fascinating read and fairly easily absorbed, especially for someone with some familiarity with the subject. Even so, I expect I will be reading it again soon to reinforce my understanding.
Our current political system appears to give us choices but what it really does is keep us divided, fighting among ourselves, dems blaming repubs and visa versa, never seeing the forest for the trees. Ever notice how even though the faces and political party may change, some things never change, no matter how promising the lip service sounded? We would be better served to see through the political theater that divides us and educate ourselves as to what has really been going on in our country and the world.
In this book, you will learn the origination of a level of power in the world that began over a century ago, the source of that power, how it operates with impunity, with no commonly accepted restrictions like morality and ethics, it's ultimate goal, and what happened in the early 20th century that supercharged it's influence on events throughout the 20th century up through today. Names are named, and specifics given with advice on where to obtain even more in depth info and steps that can be taken to challenge it's grip. Knowledge is power.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2016One of the most valuable books I've ever read. Puts history and current events into perspective. Makes me weep for America, where we've been (unwittingly in terms of the masses), but clandestinely and carefully plotted by the behind-the-scenes global manipulators who want to rule the world. Plunder and murder and a multitude of sins are in their wake. How do they accomplish such things? By infiltrating government! Americans do not want to believe or attribute such heinous acts to their own government, but this book is an expose. Always, the evil is masked as good and the whole truth is not divulged to the public. Only the "chosen" ones behind the scenes are the true insiders. The author puts it this way: "The average person is unlikely to suspect, 'their own government' of doing something so vile." Where is America headed? Do you want to know what's going on behind the scenes internationally? Do you want to know what NATO has done in the name of helping our foreign allies? Shocking! Disturbing! Against reason and principle! Making moral choices is not considered. Winning is everything. If you think that NATO is above reproach because of some of the good they've done, think again!
In terms of America, winning to the insiders, which Plummer calls, the "Network," means such things as loss of sovereignty to America. Loss of the protections of the Constitution. Loss of freedoms. Can you stomach what our "criminal rulers" have done in the name of good? An example, it was not the acts of murder and execution committed by Hitler who went against Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc. which the Network condemns, "but that he [Hitler] refused to be more diplomatic in the way he gained control of the sovereign nations that he intended to oppress." (p.155) Note: This is key for Americans. If the Network has its way, Americans will end up losing their freedoms and being oppressed! This book puts the reader on the edge of his seat when contemplating how far the network has come to achieving their goals in America and of world domination and not just world government, but world governance. This book is a must-read for every patriot, Christian, and person of conscience.

UsernameReviewed in Canada on June 8, 20215.0 out of 5 stars Very good summary of "Tragedy and Hope" Must read this!
I think Mr. Plumber did a great job on this book, it is very simple and any person can understand it. No fancy words or attempts to try and seem intellectual, just straight to the point sentences and chapters.
Good summary of 'tragedy and hope' which is over 1300 pages. I do recommend getting the authors 2 other books as I have and they are both very well done. One is called "Leaving the illusion" and the other which tells the story of the the Federal Reserve and how they took over the U.S.'s money supply is (Dishonest Money: Financing the Road to Ruin).
Overall would definitely recommend you purchase the paperback books and support this person, please don't get PDF's from online sites as the author took a lot of his life, time and money to give us these gems so the least we can do is pay $20 for a paperback physical book.
GLReviewed in the United Kingdom on December 14, 20235.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book that serves as a gateway to many avenues
Joseph Plummer has the done us all a favour and worked through Quigley's 1300+ page tome "Tragedy & Hope" and has managed to condense many documented historical events into this sleek book. This isn't supposed to replace Quigley's book but offer an introduction and pointers for further study. I would highly recommend reading this to better understand the political machinations and the names behind some of the last 100+ years of world-changing historical events. Some of the topics discussed include false flags, the pretexts to the world wars, income tax and the Federal reserve system and Gladio's role in taking the lives of innocent Europeans. Well done to Mr Plummer for taking on this gargantuan task and converting it into a digestible format.

Great condensed summary of historical sources, that make you question the intentions those who support world government. Highly recommend to those skeptical of mainstream media.
