Wow.. must watch this immersive thriller. Superb story about a series of killings, a suspect, an elusive motive and an amazing ending. Excellent movie. And it really became 'tantalizing' right away..the kind of movie that you settle in and get cozy.. Susan Sarandon is such a wonderful actress.. as is Burstyn. Gil Bellows And Topher Grace are excellent.
Seriously GREAT movie with a very different plot/ending from what we usually get with thrillers like this. WATCH IT !!!

I am a devoted fan of Sarandon, and I thought everyone else was good in this film as well. I love a good serial killer movie, which this really wasn't. There were a couple of holes in the plot and a rather inane serial killer, but none bothered me as much as this enormous faux pas:

This film depicts a fifty-something year old woman who drinks like a fish all day and night and has the smoothest, most radient skin you've ever seen. That and no gut, no bloat: come on, now, this is just ridiculous. It's Hollywood crap which seriously detracts from a film's value. I wish Sarandon had had the courage to insist that they make her look the part.

One of the the best movies I've seen in a while. Especially for being an older movie, not sure how I hadn't seen this before. Love Susan Sarandon, what a MILF.

Susan Sarandon is great as an older, salty, back pain riddled, pill popping, functioning alcoholic (for the pain) cop who stumbles across a series of murders. Really - that's the plot. Great casting with Ellen Burstyn as her mother, Donald Sutherland as a priest, Topher Grace as a young eager cop who might kind of have a crush on her. It's really worth watching. Not too scary, not too gory, Susan is great in her bah humbug booze sipping negative part - with a bad back. lol. You could probably fold laundry while watching, but you may not want to the whole time because the little details are kind of important. Yeah, I'm late to the party - but if you're cruising around to find a decent movie to watch - this is one of them.

This movie is one I'll watch again, it is that good. Also, I tend to forget a lot about the movies I watch so it is like watching a new movie the second time! Then I get it - there are so many nuances and personality traits I like to understand. This movie is intelligent, and has a cast that is first class in every way. The plot and twists kept my attention and the second time I watched it I realized how the characters interacted, with Susan Sarandon and Ellen Burstyn showing the closest relationship in the whole movie.

I just wanted to yell at Sarandon's character to get excited about the horrible crimes being committed, but booze and pills will dull your responses. She played that so well! I just wanted to shake her! Give this movie a shot - you will watch it more than once also.

4.0 out of 5 stars une approche originale du tueur en série
Reviewed in France on July 14, 2017
